I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, they know the things which I said.”

In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many who were blind he gave sight.Jesus answered them,“ Go and tell John the things which you have seen and heard: that the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,who didn’t sin,“ neither was deceit found in his mouth.”When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

Jesus himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years old, being the son( as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli,

the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

“ Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know,

Jesus answered them,“ I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”The Jews answered him,“ We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God.”Jesus answered them,“ Isn’t it written in your law,‘ I said, you are gods?’If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came( and the Scripture can’t be broken),do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You blaspheme,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God?’If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

After these days Elizabeth, his wife, conceived, and she hid herself five months, saying,
