彼得上到耶路撒冷的时候，那些守割礼的人与他争论，

惟伯鐸祿至耶路撒冷時割禮中人指責之曰：

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him

那些受了割礼、跟彼得一同来的信徒，因为圣灵的恩赐（“恩赐”或译：“恩赏”）也浇灌在外族人的身上，都很惊讶；

他们听了，就赞美神，对保罗说：“弟兄，你看，犹太人中信主的有好几万，都是对律法很热心的人。他们听说，你教导所有在外族人中的犹太人背弃摩西，叫他们不要给孩子行割礼，也不要遵守规例。他们总会听见你来了，那怎么办呢？你就照我们的话作吧，我们这里有四个人，都有愿在身。

有几个人从犹太下来，教导弟兄们说：“你们若不照摩西的规例受割礼，就不能得救。”

第二天，大约正午，他们走近那座城的时候，彼得上了房顶去祷告。

然而有几个法利赛派的信徒站起来，说：“我们必须给外族人行割礼，吩咐他们遵守摩西的律法。”

从雅各那里来的人还没有到以前，他和外族人一同吃饭；但他们来到了，他因为怕那些守割礼的人，就从外族人中退出来，和他们分开。其余的犹太人也和他一同装假，甚至连巴拿巴也受了影响，跟着他们装假。但我一见他们所行的不合福音的真理，就当众对矶法说：“你是犹太人，生活既然像外族人而不像犹太人，怎么还勉强外族人跟随犹太人的规矩呢？”
