After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross- examined the guards and ordered that they be executed. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

So Herod had them look everywhere for Peter. But they didn’t find him. Then Herod questioned the guards closely. He ordered that they be put to death. Then Herod went from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

獄卒驚醒後，看見牢門盡開，以為囚犯已經逃走了，就想拔刀自殺。

之後，末底改回到宮門那裡，哈曼卻悲傷地蒙著頭匆匆回家去了。

把他關在監裡，由四班衛兵，每班四人輪流看守，想等逾越節過後當眾懲辦他。

於是，祭司長計劃連拉撒路也殺掉，因為有許多猶太人因為拉撒路的緣故離開他們，去信了耶穌。

後來，腓利出現在亞鎖都。他走遍那裡，在各城各鄉傳揚福音，直到凱撒利亞。

他們離開之後，主的天使在夢中向約瑟顯現，說：「起來，帶著小孩子和祂母親逃往埃及，住在那裡等候我的通知，因為希律要尋找這孩子，殺害祂。」

王問的事太難，除了不在人間居住的神明外，無人能為王解答。」王大怒，下令處死巴比倫所有的智者。於是，處死智者的諭旨發出，但以理和他的同伴都在被殺之列。

士兵們想把囚犯全殺掉，怕有人乘機游泳逃走。

惡人窺探義人，伺機謀害。但耶和華不會讓惡人得逞，也不會讓義人在審判時被定罪。

還命令自己的兒子耶拉篾、亞斯列的兒子西萊雅和亞伯德的兒子示利米雅去拘捕書記巴錄和耶利米先知。但耶和華把他們藏了起來。

以色列王悶悶不樂地回撒瑪利亞的王宮去了。

她們還在趕路的時候，有些守墓的衛兵已經進城把整件事告訴祭司長。祭司長和長老聚集商議，決定用重金買通守墓的衛兵，又吩咐他們：「你們就說，『半夜裡我們熟睡的時候，耶穌的門徒把祂的屍體偷走了。』如果這件事傳到總督那裡，我們一定會替你們出面，保你們無事。」守衛收下錢，便依照吩咐去做。於是，這說法在猶太人中一直流傳到今天。

希律見自己被智者愚弄，大為惱怒，便照著智者所說的時間推算，下令把伯利恆附近兩歲以下的男孩殺光。

第二天我們離開那裡，來到凱撒利亞，住在傳道人腓利家裡。他是當初選出的七位執事之一。

過了幾天，亞基帕王和百妮姬一起到凱撒利亞問候非斯都。

大衛住在曠野的堡壘或西弗曠野的山區。掃羅天天搜捕大衛，但上帝沒有把大衛交在他的手中。

在被希律提審前一夜，彼得被兩條鐵鏈鎖著睡在兩個衛兵中間，門外警衛森嚴。
