“ Listen, fellow children of Abraham! Listen, you Gentiles who worship God! This message of salvation has been sent to us.

Cornelius and all his family were faithful and worshiped God. He gave freely to people who were in need. He prayed to God regularly.

Then Peter stood up with the 11 apostles. In a loud voice he spoke to the crowd.“ My fellow Jews,” he said,“ let me explain this to you. All of you who live in Jerusalem, listen carefully to what I say.

Hear this, all you nations. Listen, all you who live in this world.Listen, people, whether you are ordinary or important. Listen, people, whether you are rich or poor.My mouth will speak wise words. What I think about in my heart will give you understanding.

Paul and Barnabas started to leave the synagogue. The people invited them to say more about these things on the next Sabbath day.The people were told they could leave the service. Many Jews followed Paul and Barnabas. Many Gentiles who faithfully worshiped the God of the Jews did the same. Paul and Barnabas talked with them. They tried to get them to keep living in God’s grace.

‘ Whoever has ears should listen to what the Holy Spirit says to the churches. Here is what I will do for anyone who has victory over sin. I will let that person eat from the tree of life in God’s paradise.’

Whoever has ears should listen.

May God continue to bless us. Then people from one end of the earth to the other will have respect for him.

When Peter saw this, he said,“ Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us? It’s not as if we’ve made this man walk by our own power or godliness.

‘ Whoever has ears should listen to what the Holy Spirit says to the churches. Here is what I will do for anyone who has victory over sin. I will give that person hidden manna to eat. I will also give each of them a white stone with a new name written on it. Only the one who receives this name will know what it is.’

I know he’s ready to save those who have respect for him. Then his glory can be seen in our land.

He shows his mercy to those who have respect for him, from parent to child down through the years.

The Jews in the crowd pushed Alexander to the front. They tried to tell him what to say. But he motioned for them to be quiet. He was about to give the people reasons for his actions.
