After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them:“ Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.

可见，信道是从听道来的，听道是从基督的话来的。但我要问，人没有听见吗？当然听见了。“他们的声音传遍全地；他们的言语传到地极。”

起来，下去，跟他们同去，不要疑惑，因为是我差他们来的。”

但神藉着众先知的口预先宣告过基督将要受害的事，就这样应验了。

然而，耶和华—以色列的神在我父的全家拣选我作以色列的王，直到永远。因他拣选犹大为领袖，在犹大家中拣选我父家，在我父的众儿子里喜悦我，立我作全以色列的王。耶和华赐我许多儿子，在我儿子中拣选我儿子所罗门坐耶和华国度的王位，治理以色列。

你曾藉着圣灵托你仆人—我们祖宗大卫的口说：‘外邦为什么扰动？万民为什么谋算虚妄的事？

约翰回答说：“若不是从天上赐的，人就不能得到什么。

你们无论做什么事，都不要发怨言起争论，

不是你们拣选了我，而是我拣选了你们，并且派你们去结果子，让你们的果子得以长存，好使你们奉我的名，无论向父求什么，他会赐给你们。

众人祷告说：“主啊，你知道万人的心，求你从这两个人中指明你所拣选的是哪一位，

我却不以性命为念，只要走完我的路程，完成我从主耶稣所领受的职分，为神恩典的福音作见证。

我还告诉你，你是彼得，我要把我的教会建造在这磐石上，阴间的权柄不能胜过它。我要把天国的钥匙给你，凡你在地上所捆绑的，在天上也要捆绑；凡你在地上所释放的，在天上也要释放。”

圣灵吩咐我和他们同去，不要疑惑，还有这六位弟兄也跟我一起去，我们进了那人的家。那人就告诉我们，他如何看见一位天使站在他家里，说：‘你派人往约帕去，请那称为彼得的西门来，他有话要告诉你，因这些话你和你的全家都可以得救。’我一开始讲话，圣灵就降在他们身上，正像当初降在我们身上一样。我就想起主的话如何说：‘约翰用水施洗，但你们要在圣灵里受洗。’既然神给他们恩赐，像在我们信主耶稣基督的时候给了我们一样，我是谁，能拦阻神吗？”众人听见这些话，就不说话了，只归荣耀给神，说：“这样看来，神也赐恩给外邦人，使他们悔改得生命了。”

于是耶和华伸手按住我的口，对我说：“看哪，我已将我的话放在你口中。

他们在事奉主和禁食的时候，圣灵说：“要为我分派巴拿巴和扫罗去做我召他们做的工作。”

你要派人往约帕去，请那称为彼得的西门来，他住在海边一个皮革匠西门的家里。’所以我立刻派人去请你。你来了真好。现在我们都在神面前，要听主吩咐你的一切话。”彼得开口说：“我真的看出神是不偏待人的。不但如此，在各国中那敬畏他而行义的人都为他所悦纳。神藉着耶稣基督—他是万有的主—传和平的福音，把这道传给以色列人。这话在约翰传扬洗礼以后，从加利利起，传遍了犹太。神怎样以圣灵和能力膏了拿撒勒人耶稣，这都是你们知道的。他到处奔波，行善事，医好凡被魔鬼压制的人，因为神与他同在。

现在，去吧，我必赐你口才，指教你应当说的。”

现在你要派人往约帕去，请一位称为彼得的西门来。他住在一个皮革匠西门的家里，房子就在海边。”

于是二人起了争执，甚至彼此分手。巴拿巴带着马可，坐船往塞浦路斯去；

主对他说：“你只管去。他是我所拣选的器皿，要在外邦人、君王和以色列人面前宣扬我的名。
