For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. What therefore ye worship in ignorance, this I set forth unto you.

因為我走遍各處的時候，留心看你們所敬拜的，居然遇見一座壇、上面寫着說：「獻與不認識的神」。那麼你們所不認識而敬拜的，我把這個傳布給你們。

因為我邊走邊觀察你們所敬拜的，發現一座祭壇上刻著『獻給不認識的神』；那麼，我把你們所不認識而敬拜的這一位，現在傳講給你們。

適遊行時、觀爾所拜者、遇一壇、書曰、未識之神、爾所未識而崇拜者、我明告爾、

我方行遊、見爾所拜、遇一壇、書曰、未識之上帝、爾所未識而崇奉者、我為爾告之、

我適遊行、欲觀爾所崇拜者、遇一祭壇、上刻曰、未識之主、爾所未識而崇拜者、今我告爾、

蓋吾嘗閒步街頭、一覽爾所崇拜之對象、偶值一壇、上書「獻於未識之神。」茲吾欲揭示於爾者、正爾所未識而敬事者也。

For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship— and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.

Ye worship that which ye know not: we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.

Howbeit at that time, not knowing God, ye were in bondage to them that by nature are no gods:but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?

And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.

The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent:

But in vain do they worship me, Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men.

For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.

O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me;

Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father that glorifieth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God;

And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth; as there are gods many, and lords many;

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: But I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

He hath not dealt so with any nation; And as for his ordinances, they have not known them. Praise ye Jehovah.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four- footed beasts, and creeping things.Wherefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts unto uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves:for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
