因為我邊走邊觀察你們所敬拜的，發現一座祭壇上刻著『獻給不認識的神』；那麼，我把你們所不認識而敬拜的這一位，現在傳講給你們。

適遊行時、觀爾所拜者、遇一壇、書曰、未識之神、爾所未識而崇拜者、我明告爾、

我方行遊、見爾所拜、遇一壇、書曰、未識之上帝、爾所未識而崇奉者、我為爾告之、

蓋吾嘗閒步街頭、一覽爾所崇拜之對象、偶值一壇、上書「獻於未識之神。」茲吾欲揭示於爾者、正爾所未識而敬事者也。

For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship— and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.

爾曹不知所拜者、我儕則知所拜者、因救世之道、自猶太人出、

昔爾不識天主、所事之神、本非天主、今爾識天主、更為天主所識、奈何復向柔弱卑狹之賤質、欲再為其所束而為奴乎、

夫永生者無他、即知爾為獨一真天主、且知耶穌基督爾所遣者、

往時世人蒙昧、天主不究、今乃命眾隨在悔改、

彼以人所命者、為教而訓人、故徒然奉事我云、

世既以智不識天主、則天主喜以宣道之愚、救諸信者、此乃天主之智也、

義哉父歟、世不識爾、惟我識爾、彼亦知爾遣我也、

耶穌曰、若我自榮、我榮則虛、榮我者乃我父、即爾所言為爾天主者、

彼既不願存天主於念、天主聽其存邪僻之心、行所不當行者、

雖有稱為神者、或在天、或在地、即人所信之多神、多主、

我知天主之子臨世、賜我智慧、使我識真者、我儕在真者內、即在天主之子耶穌基督內、此乃真天主、亦為永生、○

爾行此事、我暫時未言、爾以為我與爾無異、其實我必責罰爾、將爾之罪惡、列在爾之目前、

主未嘗如此待異邦人、因主之法律、彼實不知、阿勒盧亞、

惟願尊貴榮光、歸於永生之王、不可壞、不可見、獨一睿智之天主、至於世世、阿們、○

天主不可見之事、即其永能、及其為天主之真、目不可見、自造天地以來、乃可明知、因觀其所造之物而悟、致人無由推諉、彼雖知天主、不以天主尊之、亦不謝之、乃思念虛妄、心以頑而愈昧、自稱為智、反成愚魯、以永生不可壞天主之榮、易以偶像、髣髴可壞之人、及禽獸昆蟲之形、故天主聽其心之嗜慾、淪於污穢、互辱其身、彼以天主之真、易以虛偽、崇拜奉事受造之物、不崇拜奉事造物之主、即永當頌美者也、阿們、

彼惡者敵天主、妄自尊崇、超軼凡稱為主、凡受人崇拜者、甚至坐於天主殿、髣髴天主、且自言為天主、

此世之主此世之主即魔迷惑此等不信者之心、基督榮耀福音之光不照之、基督乃天主之像、我所宣者非己、乃主基督耶穌也、我因耶穌為爾僕、昔天主命光由暗而照、今照於我心、以光照人、使其知天主之榮、即在基督面所顯者也、

當時爾與基督相離、在以色列民中無分、與所應許之諸約無與、無有所望、處世而無天主、
