And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

耶和華神用地上的塵土塑造人，把生命的氣息吹進他的鼻孔裡，那人就成了有生命的人。

我不是因你的祭物責備你，你的燔祭一直在我面前。我不從你家裡拿公牛，不從你羊圈裡拿公山羊；因為森林中的百獸是我的，千山上的牲畜也是我的。群山一切的飛鳥，我都認識，田野一切的走獸也都屬我。我就算飢餓，也不用對你說，因為世界和其中所充滿的都是我的。難道我吃壯牛的肉，喝公山羊的血嗎？

又是誰首先給了主，使自己將來得到回報呢？」

神耶和華創造諸天，展開穹蒼，鋪張地和地所出的一切，又把氣息賜給地上的眾人，把靈賜給行在其中的人——神耶和華如此說：

因為我們活著、行動、生存，都在於他，正如你們中間的一些詩人也曾經說過，『原來我們也是他的後裔。』

所有這些都仰望你按時賜給牠們食物。你賜給它們，牠們就收取；你張開手，它們就飽享美食。你隱藏你的臉，牠們就惶恐；你收回牠們的氣息，牠們就斷氣，歸回塵土。你發出你的氣息，牠們就被造；你使地面更換一新！

對那些今世富有的人，你當吩咐他們不可高傲自大，也不可把盼望寄託在靠不住的財富上，而要寄託在神身上，神把萬物豐豐富富地賜給我們享受。

耶和華的話語，就是默示，是關於以色列的：展開諸天、奠定大地的根基、造人裡面之靈的耶和華宣告：

我對耶和華說：「你是我的主；我的好處不在你以外。」

好讓你們成為你們天父的兒女。因為他使太陽升起，對著惡人，也對著好人；降雨給義人，也給不義的人。

你們去學『我要的是憐憫，而不是祭祀』這話是什麼意思吧！我來不是要召喚義人，而是要召喚罪人。」

其實神並不是沒有為自己留下證據，因為他常行美善：從天上賜給你們雨水和豐收的季節，使你們食物充足，滿心喜樂。」

我必不永遠責備，也不長久發怒，否則人的靈——我所造的生命氣息，在我面前就會衰竭。
