喊叫着说：“以色列人哪，快来帮忙！这个人到处教导众人反对人民，反对律法和这个地方，他甚至把希腊人也带进殿里，污秽了这圣地。”

我虽然自由，不受任何人管辖，但我自愿成为众人的奴仆，为的是要多得一些人。对犹太人，我就作犹太人，为了要得着犹太人；对律法以下的人，虽然我自己不在律法之下，还是作了律法以下的人，为了要得着律法以下的人。对没有律法的人，我就作了没有律法的人，其实我不是在神的律法以外，而是在基督的律法之下，为了要得着没有律法的人。

过了三天，保罗请犹太人的首领来。他们都到了，保罗说：“各位弟兄，我虽然没有作过什么事反对人民或者反对祖先的规例，却像囚犯被逮捕，从耶路撒冷交到罗马人的手里。

基督释放了我们，为了要使我们得自由。所以你们要站立得稳，不要再被奴役的轭控制。我保罗现在告诉你们，如果你们受割礼，基督对你们就毫无益处了。我再对所有受割礼的人郑重声明：他有责任遵行全部的律法。你们这些靠律法称义的人，是和基督隔绝，从恩典中坠落了。我们靠着圣灵，凭着信，热切等候所盼望的义。因为在基督耶稣里，受割礼或不受割礼，都没有用处，唯有那藉着爱表达出来的信，才有用处。

你们要接纳信心软弱的人，不要论断引起争论的事。有人相信所有的食物都可以吃，信心软弱的人却只吃蔬菜。吃的人不要轻看不吃的人，不吃的人也不要批评吃的人，因为神已经接纳他了。你是谁，竟然批评别人的家仆呢？他或站稳或跌倒，只和自己的主人有关；但他必定站稳，因为主能够使他站稳。有人认为这日比那日好，也有人认为日日都是一样；只要各人自己心意坚定就可以了。守日的人是为主守的，吃的人是为主吃的，因为他感谢神；不吃的人是为主不吃，他也感谢神。

“所以我认为不可难为这些归服神的外族人，只要写信叫他们禁戒偶像的污秽、淫乱，勒死的牲畜和血。因为自古以来，在各城里都有人宣讲摩西的书，每逢安息日，在各会堂里都有人诵读。”

并且造了假的证供说：“这人不断抨击圣地和律法。我们听他说过：‘这拿撒勒人耶稣要毁坏这地方，改变摩西传给我们的规例。’”

有人受了割礼而蒙召的吗？他就不要遮掩割礼的记号。有人未受割礼而蒙召的吗？他就不要受割礼。割礼算不得什么，没有割礼也算不得什么，要紧的是遵守神的命令。

保罗有意要他一同出去，但为了那些地方的犹太人，就给他行了割礼，因为他们都知道他父亲是希腊人。
