They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.

They have been told that you teach Jews to turn away from the Law of Moses. You teach this to the Jews who live among the Gentiles. They think that you teach those Jews not to circumcise their children. They think that you teach them to give up our Jewish ways.

crying out,“ Men of Israel, help! This is the man who instructs everyone everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place!”

For though I am free from all people, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may gain more.To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the Law, I became as one under the Law, though not being under the Law myself, so that I might gain those who are under the Law;to those who are without the Law, I became as one without the Law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might gain those who are without the Law.

After three days Paul called together those who were the leading men of the Jews, and when they came together, he began saying to them,“ Brothers, though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers, yet I was handed over to the Romans as a prisoner from Jerusalem.

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.Look! I, Paul, tell you that if you have yourselves circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you.And I testify again to every man who has himself circumcised, that he is obligated to keep the whole Law.You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by the Law; you have fallen from grace.For we, through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.

Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not to have quarrels over opinions.One person has faith that he may eat all things, but the one who is weak eats only vegetables.The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.One person values one day over another, another values every day the same. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.The one who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and the one who eats, does so with regard to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and the one who does not eat, it is for the Lord that he does not eat, and he gives thanks to God.

Therefore, it is my judgment that we do not cause trouble for those from the Gentiles who are turning to God,but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols, from acts of sexual immorality, from what has been strangled, and from blood.For from ancient generations Moses has those who preach him in every city, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

They put forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop speaking against this holy place and the Law;for we have heard him say that this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses handed down to us.”

Was any man called when he was already circumcised? He is not to become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? He is not to be circumcised.Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God.

Paul wanted this man to leave with him; and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
