腓力斯對於這道路本有比較詳確的知識，就延擱他們，說：『千夫長呂西亞下來的時候，我就要審斷你們中間的事』。

那麼你莫非是這些日子以前作亂，帶領四千個暗殺的人出去、到野地去的那個埃及人麼？

人必將你們革出會堂；不但如此，時候必到，凡殺你們的、且要以為是獻事奉與上帝呢！

保羅便請了一個百夫長來，說：『請把這個壯年人帶去見千夫長；他有事要報告他。』

眾人直聽保羅、聽到這句話，就提高了聲音說：『這樣的人、該從地上除掉！他不該活着。』
