After Festus had conferred with his council, he declared:“ You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you will go!”

Festus talked it over with the members of his court. Then he said,“ You have made an appeal to Caesar. To Caesar you will go!”

Then Festus, when he had conferred with his council, answered,“ To Caesar you have appealed; to Caesar you shall go.”

Festus conferred with his advisers and then replied,“ Very well! You have appealed to Caesar, and to Caesar you will go!”

After all this had happened, Paul decided to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia.“ After I have been there,” he said,“ I must visit Rome also.” (niv)

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.
