Then Paul made his defense:“ I have done nothing wrong against the Jewish law or against the temple or against Caesar.”

Then Paul spoke up for himself. He said,“ I’ve done nothing wrong against the law of the Jews or against the temple. I’ve done nothing wrong against Caesar.”

Paul argued in his defense,“ Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I committed any offense.”

Paul denied the charges.“ I am not guilty of any crime against the Jewish laws or the Temple or the Roman government,” he said.

Then Paul made his defense:“ Neither against the Jewish law, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I sinned in any way.”

Paul said in his defense,“ I have committed no offense against the Jewish law or against the temple or against Caesar.”

In the temple they didn’t find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the synagogues, or in the city.

After three days Paul called together those who were the leaders of the Jews. When they had come together, he said to them,“ I, brothers, though I had done nothing against the people or the customs of our fathers, still was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans,

They said to him,“ We neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor did any of the brothers come here and report or speak any evil of you.

Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said,“ Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until today.”

But Paul said,“ I am standing before Caesar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be tried. I have done no wrong to the Jews, as you also know very well.

For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

Now after some years, I came to bring gifts for the needy to my nation, and offerings;amid which certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, not with a mob, nor with turmoil.They ought to have been here before you, and to make accusation, if they had anything against me.Or else let these men themselves say what injustice they found in me when I stood before the council,unless it is for this one thing that I cried standing among them,‘ Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged before you today!’”

For indeed, I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews, and here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.”

and set up false witnesses who said,“ This man never stops speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the law.For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place, and will change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”

He even tried to profane the temple, and we arrested him.

Moreover Jeremiah said to king Zedekiah,“ How have I sinned against you, against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me in prison?

My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”
