「我實在告訴你們，世人一切的罪和褻瀆的話都可以得到赦免，

大祭司和眾長老都可以為我作證。我還拿著他們寫給大馬士革的猶太人的信去拘捕那裡的信徒，押回耶路撒冷受刑。

不正是他們褻瀆你們所敬奉的尊名嗎？

「你們要小心，因為你們將被送上法庭，將在會堂裡受鞭打，又將為了我的緣故在官長和君王面前做見證。

掃羅繼續用兇狠的話恐嚇主的門徒。他去見大祭司，

但法利賽人和律法教師卻怒火中燒，開始商議對付耶穌的辦法。

最後，他醒悟過來，心想，『在我父親家裡，連僱工的口糧都綽綽有餘，我現在卻要在這裡餓死嗎？

因自己的罪而受了責備。不能說話的驢竟然像人一樣說起話來，制止了他狂妄的行為。

在日光之下有一件可悲的事，就是人最終的命運都一樣。再者，人內心都充滿邪惡，活著的時候行事狂妄，最後都步入死亡。

可是，猶太人反對、毀謗保羅。保羅便抖掉衣服上的灰塵，對他們說：「你們的罪都歸在你們自己頭上，與我無關！從今以後，我要去外族人那裡了。」

這時，非斯都打斷保羅的申辯，大聲說：「保羅，你瘋了！一定是你的學問太大，使你神經錯亂了！」保羅說：「非斯都大人，我沒有瘋。我講的話真實、合理。

「這些事情出現之前，人們要拘捕你們，迫害你們，把你們押到會堂和監牢，你們將為了我的名而被君王和官長審問。

人違犯摩西的律法，經兩三個人指證後，尚且被毫不留情地處死，更何況人踐踏上帝的兒子，輕看那使人聖潔的立約之血，又藐視賜人恩典的聖靈？這等人該受多麼重的刑罰啊！
