蒙主所爱的弟兄们，我们应该为你们常常感谢神，因为神为了救恩的缘故，就藉着在圣灵里的分别为圣，以及真理的信仰，拣选了你们做为初熟的果子。为此，神也藉着我们的福音召唤了你们，使你们获得我们主耶稣基督的荣耀。

那时，大家已经很久没有吃东西了，保罗站在他们当中说：“哦，各位啊！你们当初应该听我的，不从克里特开船，省得有这样的伤害和损失。只是现在我劝你们振作起来，因为你们当中不会有人失去性命，不过会失去这条船。要知道，我所归属、所事奉的神，他的一位天使昨天晚上站在我身边，说：‘保罗，不要怕！你必须站在凯撒面前。看哪，所有与你同船的人，神都赐给你了。’

玛丽亚对天使说：“我既然没有出嫁，怎么会有这事呢？”天使回答她，说：“圣灵将要临到你，至高者的大能要荫庇你，因此，那要诞生的圣者将被称为神的儿子。

因为他会为你吩咐他的天使们，在你一切的道路上保守你；他们会用手把你举起来，免得你的脚撞到石头上；

凡是父赐给我的人，都会到我这里来，而到我这里来的人，我绝不丢弃，

可是百夫长信任了船长和船主，不信任保罗所说的，

士兵们的计划是要把囚犯杀了，免得有人游泳逃脱。可是百夫长想救保罗，就拦阻了他们的计划，命令会游泳的人跳下船，先到岸上去，

魔鬼又带耶稣到耶路撒冷，让他站在圣殿的顶端，对他说：“你如果是神的儿子，就从这里跳下去吧！因为经上记着：‘他会为你吩咐他的天使保护你；他们会用手托住你，免得你的脚撞在石头上。’”耶稣回答说：“经上说：‘不可试探主——你的神。’”
