主所愛的弟兄們哪，我們本該常為你們感謝神，因為他揀選你們為初熟的果子，使你們因信真道，又蒙聖靈感化成聖，得到拯救。為此，神藉着我們所傳的福音呼召你們，好得着我們主耶穌基督的榮光。

眾人已有好幾天沒有吃東西，保羅就出來站在他們中間，說：「諸位，你們本該聽我的話不離開克里特島，就不致遭到這樣的損失和破壞。現在我勸你們放心，除了損失這條船，你們中間沒有一人會喪失性命。因為昨夜，我所屬所事奉的神的使者站在我旁邊，說：『保羅，不要害怕，你必定站在凱撒面前；並且神已把安全賜給與你同船的人了。』

馬利亞對天使說：「我沒有出嫁，怎麼會有這事呢？」天使回答她說：「聖靈要臨到你身上；至高者的能力要庇蔭你，因此，那要出生的聖者要稱為神的兒子。

因他要為你命令他的使者，在你所行的一切道路上保護你。他們要用手托住你，免得你的腳碰在石頭上。

凡父所賜給我的人，必到我這裏來；到我這裏來的，我總不丟棄他。

那時，在你們四圍其餘的列國必知道，我－耶和華修造那毀壞之處，開墾那荒蕪之地。我－耶和華說了這話，就必成就。「主耶和華如此說：我要回應以色列家的求問，成全他們，增添他們的人數，使他們多如羊羣。

但百夫長信從船長和船主，不信保羅所說的。

士兵的意思要把囚犯都殺了，免得有游水脫逃的。但百夫長要救保羅，不准他們任意而行，就吩咐會游水的，跳下水去，先上岸；

我知道我向你們所懷的意念是賜平安的意念，不是降災禍的意念，要叫你們末後有指望。這是耶和華說的。你們呼求我，向我禱告，我就應允你們。你們尋求我，若專心尋求我，就必尋見。

魔鬼又領他到耶路撒冷去，叫他站在聖殿頂上，對他說：「你若是神的兒子，從這裏跳下去！因為經上記着：『主要為你命令他的使者保護你；他們要用手托住你，免得你的腳碰在石頭上。』」耶穌回答他說：「經上說：『不可試探主－你的神。』」
