且識其為夙坐華門而求乞者也、皆不勝驚訝、而奇其所遇焉。

they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together.“ What are we going to do with these men?” they asked.“ Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign, and we cannot deny it. (niv)

They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents.“ Is this your son?” they asked.“ Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?”“ We know he is our son,” the parents answered,“ and we know he was born blind.But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.” (niv)

After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened.For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old. (niv)

Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another,“ What does this mean?” (niv)

And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus did, he said to his disciples, (niv)

“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus,“ but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. (niv)

For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed. (niv)
