於是領受他話的人，都受了洗；那一天，門徒約添了三千人。

弟兄們，我要你們知道，我所遭遇的事反而使福音更興旺，以致御營全軍和其餘的人都知道我是為基督的緣故受捆鎖的；而且那在主裏的弟兄，多半都因我受的捆鎖而篤信不疑，越發放膽無所懼怕地傳道。有些人傳基督是出於嫉妒紛爭；有些人是出於好意。後者是出於愛心，知道我奉差遣是為福音辯護的。前者傳基督是出於自私，動機不純，企圖要加增我捆鎖的苦楚。這又何妨呢？或是假意或是真心，無論如何，只要基督被傳開了，為此我就歡喜。我還要歡喜，

我為這福音受苦難，甚至像犯人一樣被捆綁，然而神的話沒有被捆綁。所以，我為了選民事事忍耐，為使他們也能得到那在基督耶穌裏的救恩和永遠的榮耀。

「人論我說，『公義、能力，惟獨在乎耶和華。人必歸向他，凡向他發怒的都必蒙羞。

權杖必不離猶大，統治者的杖必不離他兩腳之間，直等細羅來到，萬民都要歸順他。

他所說的話，有的信，有的不信。

我實實在在地告訴你們，一粒麥子不落在地裏死了，仍舊是一粒；若是死了，就結出許多子粒來。

因此，我要使他與位大的同份，與強盛的均分擄物。因為他傾倒自己的生命，以至於死，也列在罪犯之中。他卻擔當多人的罪，為他們的過犯代求。

感謝神！他常率領我們在基督裏得勝，並藉着我們在各處顯揚那因認識基督而有的香氣。因為無論在得救的人或在滅亡的人當中，我們都是基督馨香之氣，是獻給神的。對滅亡的人，這是死而又死的氣味；對得救的人，這是生而又生的氣味。這些事誰能當得起呢？我們不像許多人，把神的道當商品販賣，而是由於真誠，而是受命於神，在神面前憑着基督講道。
