“ Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the wilderness, people of Israel?

“ Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings during the forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?

“ Was it to me you were bringing sacrifices and offerings during the forty years in the wilderness, Israel?

“ House of Israel, was it sacrifices and grain offerings that you presented to me during the forty years in the wilderness?

“ Did you present Me with sacrifices and grain offerings in the wilderness for forty years, house of Israel?

“ Did you offer Me sacrifices and offerings In the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

Did ye bring unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

“ House of Israel, was it sacrifices and grain offerings that you presented to Me during the 40 years in the wilderness?

Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

You did not bring me sacrifices and grain offerings during the forty years you spent in the wilderness, family of Israel.

“ Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?

But God turned away from them and gave them over to the worship of the sun, moon and stars. This agrees with what is written in the book of the prophets:“‘ Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the wilderness, people of Israel?You have taken up the tabernacle of Molek and the star of your god Rephan, the idols you made to worship. Therefore I will send you into exile’ beyond Babylon. (niv)

“ Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. (niv)

even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said,‘ This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,’ or when they committed awful blasphemies. (niv)

For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen. (niv)

They must no longer offer any of their sacrifices to the goat idols to whom they prostitute themselves. This is to be a lasting ordinance for them and for the generations to come.’ (niv)

“ Ask all the people of the land and the priests,‘ When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months for the past seventy years, was it really for me that you fasted? (niv)

because they rejected my laws and did not follow my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths. For their hearts were devoted to their idols. (niv)

They have sunk deep into corruption, as in the days of Gibeah. God will remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins.“ When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. But when they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became as vile as the thing they loved. (niv)

“‘ But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me; they did not get rid of the vile images they had set their eyes on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in Egypt. (niv)

because they had not obeyed my laws but had rejected my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths, and their eyes lusted after their parents’ idols. (niv)

You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense.You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses. (niv)

They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God— gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your ancestors did not fear.You deserted the Rock, who fathered you; you forgot the God who gave you birth.The Lord saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters. (niv)
