Seek the Lord and live, or he will sweep through the tribes of Joseph like a fire; it will devour them, and Bethel will have no one to quench it.

Israel, look to the Lord and live. If you don’t, he will sweep through the tribes of Joseph like a fire. It will burn everything up. And Bethel won’t have anyone to put it out.

Seek the Lord and live, lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, with none to quench it for Bethel,

Come back to the Lord and live! Otherwise, he will roar through Israel like a fire, devouring you completely. Your gods in Bethel won’t be able to quench the flames.

我必使猶大家強盛，我要拯救約瑟家；我必使他們回歸，因為我憐憫他們；他們必像未曾被我拋棄過一樣，因為我是耶和華他們的神，我必應允他們。

以色列看見約瑟的兒子們，就說：「他們是誰呢？」約瑟對他父親說：「他們是我的兒子，是神在這裡賜給我的。」以色列說：「把他們帶到我這裡，好讓我祝福他們。」以色列的眼睛因年老昏花，不能看見。約瑟就讓他們靠近他；他就親吻他們，擁抱他們。以色列對約瑟說：「我沒有想到能見你的面，看哪，連你的後裔，神都讓我見到了！」約瑟把他們從以色列的膝蓋挪開，自己臉伏於地下拜。然後約瑟領著他們兩個靠近以色列：以法蓮在他的右手，對著以色列的左手；瑪拿西在他的左手，對著以色列的右手。以色列卻伸出右手，按在次子以法蓮的頭上；又交叉著伸出左手，按在瑪拿西的頭上；實際上瑪拿西才是長子。以色列祝福約瑟說：「願我祖父亞伯拉罕和我父以撒所跟隨的神，就是牧養我一生直到今日的神，也是救贖我脫離一切禍患的那一位，祝福這兩個孩子！願我的名，我祖父亞伯拉罕和我父以撒的名，藉著他們得以流傳；願他們在地上生養眾多。」約瑟見父親把右手按在以法蓮的頭上，就覺得不對，於是抓著父親的手，要從以法蓮的頭上移到瑪拿西的頭上。約瑟對他父親說：「我的父親哪，這樣不對！這一個才是長子，你要把右手放在他的頭上。」他父親卻拒絕他，說：「我知道，我兒，我知道！他也要成為一族，也必昌大；只是他的弟弟將來比他還要昌大，他弟弟的後裔必成為多國。」以色列當天就祝福他們，說：「以色列人要用你們的名說祝福的話：『願神使你像以法蓮和瑪拿西一樣。』」這樣他把以法蓮立在瑪拿西之先。

有權勢的必成為麻絮，他的作為必成為火花；二者共燃，無人撲滅。
