Therefore you will be among the first to go into exile; your feasting and lounging will end.

午間，他們就出城；便‧哈達和幫助他的三十二個王正在帳幕裏痛飲。跟從省長的少年人先出城；便‧哈達差遣人去探望，他們回報說：「有人從撒馬利亞出來了。」他說：「他們若為講和出來，要活捉他們；若為打仗出來，也要活捉他們。」跟從省長的少年人出城，軍兵跟隨他們；各人遇見敵人就殺。亞蘭人逃跑，以色列人追趕他們；亞蘭王便‧哈達騎着馬和馬兵一同逃跑。

不要往伯特利尋求，不要進入吉甲，不要過到別是巴；因為吉甲必被擄掠，伯特利也必歸於無有。

我心慌張，驚恐威嚇我。我所羨慕的黃昏，變為我的戰兢。

你生兒養女，卻不算是你的，因為必被擄去。

所以耶和華如此說：『你的妻子必在城中作妓女；你的兒女必倒在刀下。你的地必有人用繩子量了分取；你自己必死在污穢之地。以色列民定被擄去離開本地。』」

王帶着哈曼來赴王后以斯帖的筵席。這第二次在酒席筵前，王又問以斯帖說：「王后以斯帖啊，你要甚麼，我必賜給你；你求甚麼，就是國的一半也必為你成就。」

你們像叢雜的荊棘，像喝醉了的人，又如枯乾的碎稭全然燒滅。

他們要倒在刀下，又被擄到各國去。耶路撒冷要被外邦人踐踏，直到外邦人的日期滿了。」

我若在王眼前蒙恩，王若願意賜我所要的，准我所求的，就請王帶着哈曼再赴我所要預備的筵席。明日我必照王所問的說明。」

所以我要把你們擄到大馬士革以外。」這是耶和華－名為萬軍之神說的。

哈曼又說：「王后以斯帖預備筵席，除了我之外不許別人隨王赴席。明日王后又請我隨王赴席；只是我見猶大人末底改坐在朝門，雖有這一切榮耀，也與我無益。」他的妻細利斯和他一切的朋友對他說：「不如立一個五丈高的木架，明早求王將末底改掛在其上，然後你可以歡歡喜喜地隨王赴席。」哈曼以這話為美，就叫人做了木架。

王從御園回到酒席之處，見哈曼伏在以斯帖所靠的榻上；王說：「他竟敢在宮內、在我面前凌辱王后嗎？」這話一出王口，人就蒙了哈曼的臉。伺候王的一個太監名叫哈波拿，說：「哈曼為那救王有功的末底改做了五丈高的木架，現今立在哈曼家裏。」王說：「把哈曼掛在其上。」於是人將哈曼掛在他為末底改所預備的木架上。王的忿怒這才止息。
