he builds his lofty palace in the heavens and sets its foundation on the earth; he calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land— the Lord is his name.

The Lord builds his palace high in the heavens. He lays its foundation on the earth. He sends for the waters in the clouds. Then he pours them out on the surface of the land. His name is the Lord.

在水中立樓閣的棟樑，用雲彩為車輦，藉着風的翅膀而行，

要尋求那造昴星和參星，使死蔭變為晨光，使白日變為黑夜，命海水來澆在地上的－耶和華是他的名；

那創山、造風、將心意指示人、使晨光變為幽暗、腳踏在地之高處的，他的名是耶和華－萬軍之神。

他從樓閣中澆灌山嶺；因他作為的功效，地就豐足。

天地萬物都造齊了。

將地立在根基上，使地永不動搖。你用深水遮蓋地面，猶如衣裳；諸水高過山嶺。

神對摩西說：「我是自有永有的」；又說：「你要對以色列人這樣說：『那自有的打發我到你們這裏來。』」神又對摩西說：「你要對以色列人這樣說：『耶和華－你們祖宗的神，就是亞伯拉罕的神，以撒的神，雅各的神，打發我到你們這裏來。』耶和華是我的名，直到永遠；這也是我的紀念，直到萬代。

耶和華說：你們怎麼不懼怕我呢？我以永遠的定例，用沙為海的界限，水不得越過。因此，你們在我面前還不戰兢嗎？波浪雖然翻騰，卻不能逾越；雖然匉訇，卻不能過去。

當挪亞六百歲，二月十七日那一天，大淵的泉源都裂開了，天上的窗戶也敞開了，四十晝夜降大雨在地上。正當那日，挪亞和他三個兒子閃、含、雅弗，並挪亞的妻子和三個兒婦，都進入方舟。他們和百獸，各從其類，一切牲畜，各從其類，爬在地上的昆蟲，各從其類，一切禽鳥，各從其類，都進入方舟。凡有血肉、有氣息的活物，都一對一對地到挪亞那裏，進入方舟。凡有血肉進入方舟的，都是有公有母，正如神所吩咐挪亞的。耶和華就把他關在方舟裏頭。洪水氾濫在地上四十天，水往上長，把方舟從地上漂起。水勢浩大，在地上大大地往上長，方舟在水面上漂來漂去。水勢在地上極其浩大，天下的高山都淹沒了。
