若爾與基督同死、脫斯世之賤質、何仍遵儀文、似猶活於世俗中、

爾等既與基督同死、而已灑然脫於世俗之蒙學矣、乃何又鰓鰓遵循人為之禁令、一若尚生於世俗之中耶？

Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules:

If you died with Christ to the elements of this world, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations:

If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as,

Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations—

If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye subject yourselves to ordinances,

If you died with the Messiah to the elemental forces of this world, why do you live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations:

Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

If you have died with Christ to the elemental spirits of the world, why do you submit to them as though you lived in the world?

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,

慎之哉、勿為人之理學虛誣所虜、即依人之遺傳、世之小學、不依基督也、

我儕童蒙時、亦役於斯世之小學、

是以勿因飲食、節期、月朔、安息日、被人擬議、

塗抹繩我之券、即所載諸儀文以敵我者也、於焉除之、釘之十架、

惟生於上帝者則自守、而惡者無從措手也、且知由於上帝、而舉世附於惡者、

基督既以身受苦、爾亦宜以此志自衛、蓋受苦於身者、則與罪絕矣、俾不再循人慾、惟循上帝之旨、以度餘年、爾往時從異邦人之欲、而行邪侈、縱恣、沉湎、荒宴、盤樂、及違理拜像之事亦足矣、

我兄弟乎、如是爾因基督之身、脫律若死、致可他適、即自死見起者、俾我儕結果於上帝、蓋我儕徇形軀時、其由律之惡慾動於肢體、厥果維死、今於素所縛我之律、既脫之若死、致我之奉事、不以文之舊、而以神之新矣、○

蓋我由律已死於律、致得生於上帝、我已與基督同釘十架、而我尚生、非我也、基督生於我中也、今我生於形軀者、乃因信上帝子而生、即愛我而為我捐己者也、

勿為異端諸教所蕩、蓋心堅以恩乃善、非以食耳、行乎此者未獲益也、

我雖行於血氣、非憑血氣而戰、

且於其形軀廢厥仇讐、即誡命之律、載於條例者、致於彼中以二者造一新人而致和、

淫亂者乎、爾豈不知友於世、乃敵上帝乎、凡欲為世之友者、自為上帝敵也、

然我無所誇、惟誇我主耶穌基督之十架耳、由是世於我已釘十架、我於世亦然、

我以爾道授之、而世惡之、以其不屬世、如我不屬世然、我非祈爾取之離世、乃保之脫惡也、彼不屬世、如我不屬世然、

今既知之、更為上帝所知、何反向劣弱空乏之小學、復欲為之役乎、爾乃守日月節年、我為爾懼、恐我為爾徒勞矣、○兄弟乎、我求爾如我、蓋我已如爾、爾未嘗枉我、

爾若屬世、世必愛屬己者、爾非屬世、乃我選爾出乎世、故世惡爾焉、

曰、非也、我儕於罪既死、詎尚於罪中生乎、豈不知我儕受洗以入基督耶穌者、乃受洗以入其死也、故我儕既由洗與之同葬而入於死、致如基督由父之榮自死見起、我儕為人、亦如是維新矣、蓋我儕若於其死狀與之聯合、則將於其復起也亦然、乃知舊日之我、與之同釘、俾罪之體泯、不復為罪所役、因死者釋於罪也、若我與基督同死、則信亦必與之同生矣、且知基督自死見起、必不再死、死不再主之、其死也、則一次為罪而死、其生也、則為上帝而生、如是、爾曹於基督耶穌中、宜自視為罪而死、為上帝而生也、○

蓋爾已死、爾之生與基督共隱於上帝、
