But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

「那時，保佑你百姓的天使長米迦勒必站起來，並且有大艱難，自從有國以來直到此時，未曾有過這樣的事。那時，你的百姓凡記錄在冊上的，必得拯救。

天使長米迦勒為摩西的屍首與魔鬼爭辯的時候，尚且不敢用毀謗的話譴責他，只說：「主責備你吧！」

天上發生了爭戰。米迦勒同他的使者與龍作戰，龍同牠的使者也起來應戰，

他說：「你知道我為甚麼到你這裏來嗎？現在我要回去與波斯的領袖爭戰，我去了之後，看哪，希臘的領袖必來。但我要將那記錄在真理之書上的話告訴你。除了你們的天使米迦勒之外，沒有人幫助我抵擋他們。」

耶穌已經到天上去，在神的右邊，眾天使、有權柄的、有權能的都服從了他。

你們在他裏面也已經成為豐盛。他是所有執政掌權者的元首。

因為我們的爭戰並不是對抗有血有肉的人，而是對抗那些執政的、掌權的、管轄這幽暗世界的，以及天空靈界的惡魔。

所以我們很想到你們那裏去。我－保羅有一兩次要去，只是撒但阻擋了我們。

天使指給我看：約書亞大祭司站在耶和華的使者面前，撒但站在約書亞的右邊控告他。耶和華向撒但說：「撒但哪，耶和華責備你！揀選耶路撒冷的耶和華責備你！這不是從火中抽出來的一根柴嗎？」

那地的人就在猶大百姓建造的時候，使他們的手發軟，擾亂他們。從波斯王居魯士年間，直到波斯王大流士在位的時候，那些人賄賂謀士，要破壞他們的計劃。亞哈隨魯在位，他的國度剛開始的時候，他們上書控告猶大和耶路撒冷的居民。

於是，在耶路撒冷神殿的工程就停止了，直停到波斯王大流士第二年。
