In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel( who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision. (niv)

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. (niv)

He said:“ I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end. (niv)

“ With a large army he will stir up his strength and courage against the king of the South. The king of the South will wage war with a large and very powerful army, but he will not be able to stand because of the plots devised against him. (niv)

The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. (niv)

After coming to an agreement with him, he will act deceitfully, and with only a few people he will rise to power. (niv)
