[ At what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy[ it];

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up[ riches], and knoweth not who shall gather them.

Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise[ man] or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This[ is] also vanity.

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold,[ that] which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

But God said unto him,[ Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

That the triumphing of the wicked[ is] short, and the joy of the hypocrite[ but] for a moment?Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;[ Yet] he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where[ is] he?

I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.Yet he passed away, and, lo, he[ was] not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east,[ shall be] holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

There is one[ alone], and[ there is] not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet[ is there] no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither[ saith he], For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This[ is] also vanity, yea, it[ is] a sore travail.

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;None[ of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:( For the redemption of their soul[ is] precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)That he should still live for ever,[ and] not see corruption.For he seeth[ that] wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.Their inward thought[ is, that] their houses[ shall continue] for ever,[ and] their dwelling places to all generations; they call[ their] lands after their own names.Nevertheless man[ being] in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts[ that] perish.

Until I went into the sanctuary of God;[ then] understood I their end.Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.How are they[ brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.As a dream when[ one] awaketh;[ so], O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.
