Then the astrologers answered the king,“ May the king live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it.”

Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in the Syrian language, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will show the interpretation.

The wise men replied to the king:[ What follows is in Aramaic]“ O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will disclose its interpretation.”

太后因王和他大臣所说的话，就进入宴会厅，说：“愿王万岁！你的心不要惊惶，脸不要变色。

亚达薛西年间，比施兰、米特利达、他别和他们的同僚上书奏告波斯王亚达薛西。奏文是用亚兰文写的，以亚兰文呈上。

但以理对王说：“愿王万岁！

于是，总长和总督纷纷聚集来见王，说：“大流士王万岁！

以利亚敬、舍伯那、约亚对将军说：“求你用亚兰话对仆人说，因为我们听得懂；不要用犹大话对我们说，免得传到城墙上百姓的耳中。”

于是，拔示巴屈身，脸伏于地，向王叩拜，说：“我主大卫王万岁！”

前呼后拥的人都喊着说：“和散那！奉主名来的是应当称颂的！那将要来的我祖大卫之国是应当称颂的！至高无上的，和散那！”

于是那些术士、巫师、迦勒底人、观兆的都进来，我将那梦告诉他们，他们却不能把梦的解释告诉我。

拉班称那石堆为伊迦尔‧撒哈杜他，雅各却称那石堆为迦累得。

于是称为伯提沙撒的但以理惊骇片时，心意惊惶。王说：“伯提沙撒啊，不要因梦和梦的解释惊惶。”伯提沙撒回答说：“我主啊，愿这梦归给恨恶你的人，这梦的解释归给你的敌人。

撒母耳对众百姓说：“你们看到了耶和华所拣选的人吗？众百姓中没有人可以与他相比。”众百姓就欢呼说：“愿王万岁！”

于是王所有的智慧人都进前来，他们却不能读那文字，也不能为王讲解它的意思。

我对王说：“愿王万岁！我祖先坟墓所在的那城荒凉，城门被火焚烧，我岂能面无愁容呢？”

他今日下去，献了许多牛羊、肥犊为祭，请了王的众儿子和军官们，以及亚比亚他祭司；看哪，他们正在亚多尼雅面前吃喝，说：‘亚多尼雅王万岁！’

我使虚谎的预兆失效，愚弄占卜的人，使智慧人退后，使他的知识变为愚拙；

到了早晨，法老心里不安，就派人把埃及所有的术士和智慧人都召来。法老把所做的梦告诉他们，但是没有人能为法老解梦。

前呼后拥的人群喊着说：“和散那归于大卫之子！奉主名来的是应当称颂的！至高无上的，和散那！”
