Moreover, at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

The king also did what Daniel asked him to. He appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to help Daniel govern Babylon and the towns around it. Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

Daniel made a request of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego over the affairs of the province of Babylon. But Daniel remained at the king’s court.

爾其惡惡好善、在邑門立公義、庶幾萬軍之上帝耶和華、施恩於約瑟之遺民、

末底改坐御門時、有王之二豎、司閽者辟探提列忿怒、謀害亞哈隨魯王、

宦官長易其名、稱但以理曰伯提沙撒、稱哈拿尼雅曰沙得拉、稱米沙利曰米煞、稱亞撒利雅曰亞伯尼歌、

巴比倫王之牧伯、尼甲沙利薛、三甲尼波、宦官長撒西金、博士長尼甲沙利薛、及巴比倫王其餘之牧伯、咸入、坐於中門、

在御門之臣僕、俱遵王命、跪拜哈曼、惟末底改不跪不拜、

但以理歸、以告同儕哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅、

此四少者、上帝賜以知識聰睿、精於文字學術、但以理洞悉諸啟示及夢兆、

有猶大數人、沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌、乃王所立、以理巴比倫州事者、王歟、斯人不尊重爾、不事爾神、不拜爾所立之金像、尼布甲尼撒怒、忿甚、命攜沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌至、遂攜之至於王前、尼布甲尼撒謂之曰、沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌、爾曹不事我神、不拜我所立之金像、乃故意乎、今爾聞角簫琵琶琴瑟笙、及各樂器之音、願伏拜我所製之像、則可、若不拜之、必即時投於烈火之爐、何神能拯爾於我手耶、沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌對曰、尼布甲尼撒歟、斯事、我儕無庸答爾、果爾、我所事之上帝、能拯我於烈火之爐、亦必拯我於爾手、即不然、王當知我決不事爾神、不拜爾所立之金像、尼布甲尼撒怒甚、向沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌變色、命爇其爐、烈較尋常七倍、亦命軍中壯士數人、縛沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌、投諸烈火之爐、三人被縛、仍衣褲袍與褻服、及他衣、投於烈火之爐、因王命孔亟、其爐甚熱、投沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌之人、俱為火燄所斃、沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌三人被縛、墮於烈火之爐、時、尼布甲尼撒王駭異、急起、謂議士曰、我所縛而投於火者、非三人乎、對曰、王歟、是也、王曰、我見四人、不縛不傷、遊於火中、其四者之貌、有若神子、尼布甲尼撒近烈火之爐門曰、至上上帝之僕、沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌歟、其出而前、三人即自火中出、方伯大臣牧伯、及王之議士咸集、見此三人、火不能傷其身、首髮不焦、衣服不變、火燎之臭、亦未及之、尼布甲尼撒曰、沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌之上帝、宜頌美焉、遣其使救賴之之僕、彼背王命、自舍其身、於其上帝外、不事他神、而崇拜之、我今頒詔、各民各國、各方言者、凡謗沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌之上帝、必解其體、使其室為糞場、蓋無他神能行拯救若是、王遂陞沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌於巴比倫州、

義人得志、羣眾誇耀、惡人興起、庶民隱匿、
