While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.

火盆和碗，無論金的銀的，護衛長都帶走了；

我又對祭司和這眾百姓說：「耶和華如此說：你們不可聽那先知對你們所說的預言，他們說：『看哪，耶和華殿中的器皿快要從巴比倫帶回來』；其實他們向你們傳的是假預言。不可聽從他們，只管服事巴比倫王，就得存活。何必使這城變為廢墟呢？他們若真是先知，有耶和華的話臨到他們，讓他們祈求萬軍之耶和華，使耶和華殿中和猶大王宮內，並耶路撒冷剩下的器皿，不致被帶到巴比倫去。萬軍之耶和華這樣論柱子、銅海、盆座，並留在這城裏剩下的器皿，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒擄掠約雅敬的兒子猶大王耶哥尼雅，並猶大、耶路撒冷所有貴族時，沒有從耶路撒冷掠去巴比倫的器皿。論到那在耶和華殿中和猶大王宮內，並耶路撒冷剩下的器皿，萬軍之耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：它們必被帶到巴比倫，存放在那裏，直到我眷顧以色列人，將這些器皿帶回歸還此地的日子。這是耶和華說的。」

杯、火盆、碗、鍋、燈臺、勺子、酒杯，無論金的銀的，護衛長都帶走了；

竟向天上的主自高，差人將他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、王后、妃嬪用這器皿飲酒。你又讚美那不能看、不能聽、無知無識，用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石造的神明，沒有將榮耀歸與那手中掌管你氣息，管理你一切行動的上帝。

他把上帝殿裏一切的大小器皿與耶和華殿裏的財寶，以及王和眾領袖的財寶，全都帶到巴比倫去。

他們飲酒，讚美金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石造的神明。

列國都要服事他和他的子孫，直到他本國遭報的日期來到；那時，許多國家和大君王要使他作奴隸。

亞哈的兒子以色列王約蘭第十二年，猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝登基。他登基的時候年二十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王一年。他母親名叫亞她利雅，是以色列王暗利的孫女。亞哈謝行亞哈家的道，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，與亞哈家一樣，因為他是亞哈家的女婿。

於是但以理被領到王面前。王問但以理說：「你就是我父王從猶大帶來、被擄的猶大人但以理嗎？

你，王啊，至高的上帝曾將國度、大權、榮耀、威嚴賜給你父尼布甲尼撒；

過了一年，尼布甲尼撒王差遣人將約雅斤和耶和華殿裏寶貴的器皿帶到巴比倫，然後立約雅斤的叔父西底家作猶大和耶路撒冷的王。

在你國中有一人，他裏頭有神聖神明的靈，你父在世的日子，這人心中光明，又有聰明智慧，好像神明的智慧。你父尼布甲尼撒王，就是王的父，曾立他為術士、巫師、迦勒底人和觀兆者的領袖，

大衛對他說：「你不要懼怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故向你施恩，把你祖父掃羅的一切田地都歸還你，你也可以常與我同席吃飯。」

後來他又娶押沙龍的女兒瑪迦，從她生了亞比雅、亞太、細撒和示羅密。

亞撒王甚至廢了他祖母瑪迦太后的位，因瑪迦造了可憎的亞舍拉。亞撒砍下她的偶像，搗得粉碎，在汲淪溪邊燒了，
