I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this.“ So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things:

長老中有一位問我，說：「這些身穿白袍的是誰？他們是從哪裡來的？」我對他說：「我主啊，你是知道的。」他就對我說：「這些人都是從大患難中出來的。他們用羔羊的血洗淨了自己的袍子，使它們潔白了。

從他面前有一條火河湧流而出；事奉他的有千千，侍立在他面前的有萬萬；庭審已經開始，書卷都打開了。

可是長老中有一位對我說：「不要哭了！看哪，那出於猶大支派的獅子、大衛的根已經得勝，可以打開那書卷和它的七個封印。」

看哪，那與我說話的天使正出去的時候，另有一個天使迎著他來，

他指示我，對我說：「但以理啊，現在我出來，為要使你明達、有悟性！

那碰我的對我說：「蒙愛的但以理啊！你當領悟我向你說的話，站起來，因為我現在受派遣到你這裡。」他與我說這話的時候，我就戰戰兢兢地站了起來。他又對我說：「但以理啊！你不要害怕，因為自從你用心領悟這事、在你的神面前謙卑的第一天起，你的禱告就蒙垂聽了；我是因你的禱告而來的。

我在夜間觀看，看哪，有一個人騎著紅色的馬，站在深谷裡的桃金娘樹中間！在他後面還有紅色、栗色、白色的馬。我就問：「主啊，這些是什麼呢？」那與我說話的天使回答我：「我會向你指明這些是什麼。」那站在桃金娘樹中間的人回應說：「這些是耶和華派遣去遍地巡行的。」他們回應站在桃金娘樹中間耶和華的使者，說：「我們遍地巡行，看哪，全地都安定、平靜！」

然後我聽見一位聖者在說話，又有一位聖者問那說話的：「這異象，就是有關常獻的祭、帶來荒涼的罪過、聖所和天軍被踐踏之事，要到什麼時候呢？」他就回答我：「要經過兩千三百個晚上和早晨，那時聖所就必重歸為聖。」我但以理正在觀看這異象，想要領悟它，看哪，有一位樣貌像人的站在我面前！我又聽見在烏萊運河中間有人的聲音呼喊說：「加百列啊，你當使這人領悟這異象！」

我舉目觀看，看哪，有一個人身穿細麻衣，腰間束著俄斐黃金的帶子！他的身體如黃水晶，面貌如閃電的樣子，眼睛如燃燒的火把，膀臂和腳如磨亮閃耀的銅；他說話的聲音如眾人發出的聲音。

那時，我但以理正在觀看，看哪，另有兩位站著，一位在河岸這邊，一位在河岸那邊！其中一位對那身穿細麻衣、在河水之上的人說：「這些奇妙之事的結局要到什麼時候呢？」

「萬軍之耶和華如此說：『如果你走在我的道路上，遵守我的吩咐，你就必管理我的家，看守我的院宇，我也允許你在這些侍立者中間往來。
