兽的七头中有一个似乎受了致命伤，但那致命伤却医好了。全地的人都很惊奇，跟从那兽。因为龙把权柄交给了兽，大家就拜龙，也拜兽，说：“有谁可以跟这兽相比？有谁能与它作战呢？”龙又给了那兽一张说夸大和亵渎话的嘴巴，也给了它权柄可以任意而行四十二个月。兽就开口向神说亵渎的话，亵渎他的名和他的帐幕，以及那些住在天上的。它得了允许能跟圣徒作战，并且能胜过他们；又有权柄给了它，可以管辖各支派、各民族、各方言、各邦国。所有住在地上的人，名字没有记在创世以来被杀的羊羔之生命册上的，都要拜它。凡有耳的，就应当听！如果人应该被俘掳，就必被俘掳；如果人应该被刀杀，就必被刀杀。在这里圣徒要有忍耐和信心！

他必说话，敌挡至高者；他必折磨至高者的圣民，又想改变节期和律法；圣民必交在他的手中，一载、二载、半载（“一载、二载、半载”或译：“一个时期、多个时期、半个时期”）。

神要众王行他的旨意，就把意念放在他们心中，叫他们同心把自己的国献给那兽，直到神的话都实现为止。

他的军队必起来，亵渎圣殿，就是那堡垒，废除常献祭，又在殿里设立了那使地荒凉的可憎的像。那些作恶违背圣约的人，他必用奉承的话败坏他们；但认识神的人民，必刚强行事。民中的智慧人必使许多人明白是非；但他们必有很多日子倒在刀剑之下，或被火烧，或被掳去，或被抢掠。他们仆倒的时候，必得到一些援助，必有许多人用奉承的话要和他们联盟。智慧人中有些仆倒的，为要锻炼他们，洁净他们，使他们成为雪白，直到末了，因为要到了指定的时候，结局才会来到。“那王必任意而行，自高自大，超过所有的神，又说一些怪诞的话攻击万神之神。他必行事顺利，直到神的忿怒完毕；因为所定的事必会实现。

因为他的审判是真实公义的。他审判了那大淫妇，那以淫乱败坏了世界的；并且为他的仆人向淫妇伸了流血的冤。”

因为他们曾流圣徒和先知的血，现在你给他们血喝，这是他们该受的。”

它渐渐长大，高及天象，把一些天象和星星摔落在地上，用脚践踏。

我又看见那妇人喝圣徒的血，和那为耶稣作见证的人的血，喝醉了。我看见了她，就大大惊奇。

我听见那身穿细麻衣、站在河水以上的人，向天举起左右手，指着活到永远的主起誓，说：“要经过一载、二载、半载（“一载、二载、半载”或译：“一个时期、多个时期、半个时期”）；在他们完全粉碎圣民的势力的时候，这一切事就都要完成。”

你看见的那十角，就是十王，他们还没有取得王权；但要跟兽一同得着权柄，作王一个时期。他们同心合意，把自己的权力权柄交给那兽。
