牠的頭有一個似乎受了能致死之傷的；但那能致死之傷卻得治好；全地之人就都希奇，跟從了獸；又因龍將權柄給了獸，就敬拜龍，也敬拜獸，說：『誰能比得過這獸呢？誰能對獸爭戰呢？』那時有說誇大和褻瀆話的口給了獸，也有權柄給了牠、可以行事四十二個月。牠就開口褻瀆上帝，褻瀆他的名和他榮現之幕所於天上。獸得權柄、能對聖徒作戰而勝過他們；有權柄給了牠、可以管轄各族派、各民族、各種語言的人、和各邦國。一切住在地上的人、名字沒有記在世界創立以來被屠宰的羔羊之生命冊上的、都必拜獸。人若有耳，就應當聽！人若該被擄，他就去被擄。人若用刀殺人，就必須被殺於刀。這裏就是需要聖徒的堅忍與信德的地方。

因為他所判罰的真實又公義：他判罰了那大淫婦、那用淫亂使地上敗壞的，他並且向淫婦手裏為他僕人們伸流血的冤。』

他們曾流過聖徒和神言人們的血，你也把血給了他們喝；他們是該受的。』

牠漸漸強大、高及天象，將些天象和星宿拋落地上，用腳踐踏。

我聽見身穿細麻服裝、站在河水以上、向天舉起左右手、指着那永遠活着的主來起誓的那人說：『要經過一個定期，兩個定期，半個定期，到打破聖民權力的事都作完了時，這一切事就都完了。

你所看見的十個角就是十個王；他們還沒有得國，但必跟獸同得權柄、做王一個時辰。他們都有同一樣的心意、將自己的能力和權柄給予獸。
