他又对我说：“不要封住这书上的预言，因为时候近了。

“人子啊！以色列家说：‘这人所见的异象是关乎许多年日以后的事，他所说的预言是指着遥远的将来。’

七雷说话的时候，我正要写下来，就听见有声音从天上出来，说：“七雷所说的你要封住，不可写出来！”

我对她说：“你要给我独居多日，不要行淫，不要有别的男人，我也必不与你同房。”因为以色列人也要独居多日；没有君王，没有领袖，没有祭祀，没有柱像，没有以弗得，也没有家中的神像。

它狂妄自大，要高及天象之君；它除掉献给天象之君的常献祭，又拆毁他的圣所。因罪过的缘故，圣民（“圣民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一个字）连同常献的祭都交给它；它把真理丢在地上，任意而行，凡事顺利。我听见一位圣者在说话，又有一位圣者问他：“这个关于除掉常献的祭，和引致毁坏的罪过，以及践踏圣所和圣民（“圣民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一个字）的异象，要到几时呢？”他对我说：“要到二千三百个晚上和早晨，圣所才得洁净。”我但以理看见了这异象以后，就想明白它的意义；忽然有一位外貌像人的，站在我面前。

他们必被聚集，像囚犯被聚集在牢狱里一般；他们要被关在监牢中，多日以后，他们要被惩罚。
