荏弱之羊、爾肩摧之、角抵之、使之星散、

雅各之遺民、將擊列邦、如牡獅嚙野獸、如稚獅噬群羊、一過其中、則蹂躪斷傷、無能救援、

耶和華以巴比倫及迦勒底之事、諭先知耶利米曰、當立旌旆、告於列邦、播傳毋隱、曰、巴比倫已陷、巴勒抱愧、米羅達已折、諸偶像已毀。民自北至、攻巴比倫、人民群畜、刧掠一空、地變荒蕪、無人居處。耶和華又曰、當斯之時、以色列族、猶大家偕至、且哭且行、求其上帝耶和華、俱望郇邑、勤詢厥路、歸誠於我、與我結約、歷世弗忘。昔我民若亡羊、牧者誘之、迷於歧途、陟彼岡巒、忘厥棲止之所。凡遇我民者、必吞噬之、敵曰、耶和華為斯民之福場、列祖所恃、今彼獲罪於主我噬之何害。今我民當出巴比倫、離迦勒底地、若牡羊導群。大邦之民、必率群眾、來自北方、攻巴比倫、列行伍、取邑垣、若善戰者、矢不虛發、我使之然。耶和華又曰、迦勒底地為人侵奪、奪之者皆饜其欲。昔迦勒底人殲滅我民、欣喜不勝、身肥體胖、若牛得蒭、若馬長嘶。今巴比倫抱愧、大邑含羞、其地終為邱墟、有若沙漠。因我耶和華震怒、巴比倫傾圮、變為荒蕪、無人居處、凡過之者、見其災害、必駭異而作怨聲。巴比倫人獲罪於我、凡執矢、列行伍、圍巴比倫者、射之毋惜、今我欲雪宿忿、視其所行而加報施、爾曹當鼓譟直前、毀其垣墉、傾其基址、使巴比倫投誠。在巴比倫、播種者則滅之、刈禾者則殺之、旅其地者、懼利刃、逃四方、各歸故土。以色列族若亡羊、為獅所驅、初為亞述王吞噬、後為巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒折骨。萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、昔我罰亞述王、後必罰巴比倫王、及其土地、亦若是。我必返以色列族於故土、於加密巴山、牧守群羊、於以法蓮、基列地、而得果腹。耶和華又曰、所遺之民、我必赦宥、當是之時、以色列族、猶大家、所有罪戾、歸於烏有、雖求其疵、亦不可得、耶和華又曰、違逆之邦、當降以罰、滅之務盡、循我所命。戰鬥殺伐之聲、聞於斯土。昔巴比倫滅天下、若鎚摧物、今巴比倫被折、列國為之驚駭。巴比倫人逆我耶和華、故我設坎阱、乘彼不覺、陷於其中。我萬有之主耶和華、在迦勒底、啟我府庫、出我器械、以雪我忿、以成我事。迦勒底之敵國、自地極來、攻開其倉廩、城垣變為瓦礫、滅之務盡、毋遺蹤跡、殺壯士若屠牛、降災之日既至、其禍不遠、我上帝耶和華為殿宇雪忿、人自巴比倫逃於郇邑、備述斯事、咸聞其語。

耶和華告受膏古列曰、我左右爾、使列國賓服、使諸王荏弱、大啟邑門、不能閉拒。我備爾道、使曲為直、毀敵銅門、斷敵鐵楗、貨財藏於密室、我以之錫爾、俾爾知命爾名者、乃我耶和華以色列族之上帝。爾雖不知予、我命爾名、畀以尊號、俾爾救我所選之臣僕、雅各家以色列族。爾雖不知予、我賜爾力、我耶和華獨為上帝、其外無他、

爾曹忘我、當思余言、恐我毀爾、援手無人兮。

彼曰、我有智有能、克勝鄰邦、虜其財、得其地、惟自恃其能而為之。我擊天下、得人貨財、如覆巢取卵、雌鳥遠飛、無有哀鳴而鼓翼者。

爾明知罪我為無辜、而人莫敢誰何。
