那麼你就一定要把那城裏的居民用刀擊殺掉，將那城和城裏所有的一切、連牲口、都用刀盡行毁滅歸神。

以色列人又回到便雅憫人那裏，將男丁和牲口、跟一切所遇見的、都用刀擊殺；又凡所遇見的城市、都放火焚燒。

永恆主你的上帝所交給你的別族之民、你要把他們除滅掉；你的眼不可顧惜他們；你也不可事奉他們的神，因為這會餌誘你入於網羅。

這城和其中一切所有的都要盡行毁滅歸於永恆主；只有廟妓喇合、她和她家中一切所有的、可以活着，因為她藏了我們所打發的使者。不過你們、可要謹慎，不可取該被毁滅歸神之物，恐怕你們既把它定為該被毁滅歸神，又取了該被毁滅歸神之物，就使以色列營成為該被毁滅歸神，而搞壞它了。但是一切金銀和銅鐵的器皿、都屬於永恆主為聖，要歸入永恆主的寶庫中。』於是人民都吶喊，祭司們也吹了號角。人民一聽見了號角聲，便大聲吶喊，那城牆就當場陷落，人民便上城，各人往前直上，攻取那城。又把城中一切所有的、不拘男女老少、牛羊和驢、全都用刀殺滅歸神。

眾人就把城和其中一切所有的都用火燒；只有金銀和銅鐵的器皿、都交與永恆主的寶庫。

那時我們攻取了他所有的城市，將一切有男丁的城市、連女人帶小孩、都盡行毁滅歸神，連一個殘存的人也沒有留下；

因為他所判罰的真實又公義：他判罰了那大淫婦、那用淫亂使地上敗壞的，他並且向淫婦手裏為他僕人們伸流血的冤。』他們又說了第二次：『哈利路亞！燒她的煙直往上冒，世世代代、永不停息！』

你所看見的十個角和那獸必恨這淫婦、使她荒涼赤身，必喫她的肉，用火燒掉了她。

看見她被焚燒的煙就喊着說：『哪一個城能比得過那大城呢？』他們把塵土撒在頭上，哭泣哀慟喊着說：『有禍啊！有禍啊！那大城！那城裏頭凡有船在海中的、由她的珍寶而得財富的、有禍啊！一時之間她已變為荒涼了！天哪，聖眾使徒和神言人哪，因那城而歡躍吧！因為上帝已為你們伸雪而判罰她了。』有一位大有力量的天使舉起一塊石頭來、像大磨石、丟在海裏、說：『巴比倫大城也必這樣砰磅一下被丟下，決不能再看到了！彈絃琴、作樂、吹簫笛、吹號筒者、的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；各手工業各手藝人在你中間決不能再看到了；石磨的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；燈光決不能再照耀於你中間了；新郎新娘的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；因為你的商人曾經是地上的大人物；因為列國都曾在你的邪術中受了迷惑。』在這裏並且見有神言人和聖徒們的血、以及地上一切被屠殺之人的血。

他們的神你不可敬拜，不可事奉，也不可按他們行為的樣子行，卻要把神像盡行翻毁，一概打碎他們的崇拜柱子。
