And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for[ his] only[ son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for[ his] firstborn.

He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD[ is] gracious and full of compassion.

[ It is] vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows:[ for] so he giveth his beloved sleep.

And in the fifteenth day of this month[ is] the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.

And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this[ place]: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.This day came ye out in the month Abib.And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day[ shall be] a feast to the LORD.Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying,[ This is done] because of that[ which] the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea,[ what] clearing of yourselves, yea,[ what] indignation, yea,[ what] fear, yea,[ what] vehement desire, yea,[ what] zeal, yea,[ what] revenge! In all[ things] ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

And when he had given thanks, he brake[ it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.After the same manner also[ he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink[ it], in remembrance of me.For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

And on the fifteenth day of the same month[ is] the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened[ bread] of sincerity and truth.
