若有先知冒我的名說我未曾吩咐他的話，或以其他神明的名義說話，必須處死他。』

“‘不过，如果有先知擅自奉我的名，说我没有吩咐他说的话，或是奉别神的名说话，那先知就必须处死。’

若有先知擅自奉我的名說了我未曾吩咐他說的話，或是奉別神的名說話，那先知就必處死。』

如有先知擅藉我名、言我所未諭者、或藉他神之名而言、必致之死、

但先知擅藉我名、言我所未嘗諭者、或藉他上帝之名而言、則必死亡。

如有先知擅藉我名、言我所未命其宣傳之言、或藉異邦之神而言、彼先知當誅、

But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”

But suppose a prophet dares to speak in my name something I have not commanded. Or he speaks in the name of other gods. Then that prophet must be put to death.”

「如果你們中間出現了先知或解夢的人，要顯神蹟奇事給你們看，勸你們隨從、供奉素不認識的神明，即使他們顯的神蹟奇事應驗了，你們也不可聽從他們。因為這是你們的上帝耶和華在試驗你們，要看看你們是否全心全意地愛祂。你們要跟從你們的上帝耶和華，敬畏祂，遵守祂的誡命，聽從祂的話，事奉祂，倚靠祂。必須處死那些先知或解夢的人，因為他們慫恿你們背叛你們的上帝耶和華、偏離祂吩咐你們當走的道路。你們的上帝耶和華曾帶你們離開埃及，救你們脫離奴役。你們必須清除你們當中的邪惡。

若有人再說預言，他的親生父母必對他說，『你不得活命，因為你奉耶和華的名說謊。』他說預言的時候，他的親生父母必把他刺死。

我看見撒瑪利亞的先知行為可憎，他們靠巴力說預言，引誘我的子民走入歧途。我也看見耶路撒冷的先知行為可惡，他們通姦，謊話連篇，慫恿惡人，以致無人悔過自新。在我眼中，耶路撒冷人就像所多瑪人和蛾摩拉人一樣敗壞。因此，論到這些先知，萬軍之耶和華說，『看啊，我要使他們吃苦艾，喝毒藥，因為褻瀆之風從耶路撒冷的先知那裡蔓延，遍及全境。』」

以利亞對他們說：「抓住巴力的先知，別放走一個人！」眾人就抓住他們，以利亞把他們帶到基順河邊，在那裡殺了他們。

耶和華並沒有派他們，他們卻奉祂的名說假預言。如果你們聽信他們的話，耶和華必把你們和假先知趕走，使你們一同滅亡。」

但他們好像沒有理性，生下來就是預備讓人捉去宰殺的牲畜，連自己不懂的事也隨口毀謗。他們在毀壞別人的時候，自己也必滅亡。

耶利米先知就對哈拿尼雅先知說：「哈拿尼雅，聽著！耶和華並沒有派你來，你卻誘使這些民眾相信你的謊話。因此，耶和華說，『我要把你從世上除掉，你今年必死，因為你背叛了耶和華。』」哈拿尼雅先知便在當年七月死了。

耶和華對我說：「那些先知奉我的名說假預言，我並沒有差派他們，沒有委任他們，也沒有對他們說話。他們對你們說的預言是假異象，是占卜，是憑空捏造。我沒有差派他們，他們卻奉我的名說這地方必沒有戰爭和饑荒。他們必死於戰爭和饑荒。這是耶和華說的。

中午時分，以利亞譏諷他們說：「喊大聲一點，他肯定是神明！也許他在沉思冥想，也許太忙了，也許出遊了，也許睡著了，需要人叫醒他！」

眾祭司從來不問『耶和華在哪裡？』執掌律法的不認識我，首領背叛我，先知靠巴力說預言，隨從無用的假神。

後來，怪獸被俘虜了，在怪獸面前行奇蹟的假先知也一同被擒了。這假先知曾用奇蹟欺騙那些蓋了獸印、敬拜獸像的人。他和怪獸一同被活活地扔進硫磺火湖裡。

他們的異象虛假不實，他們的預言謊話連篇。他們口口聲聲說是傳達耶和華的話，其實耶和華並沒有差遣他們。他們竟然指望自己的謊言能夠應驗。

現在，你快派人去召集所有的以色列人到迦密山來見我，把巴力的四百五十名先知和耶洗別所供養的四百名亞舍拉的先知也帶來。」

耶和華說：「看啊，我要對付那些假先知，他們妄自說預言，卻謊稱是耶和華的話。」

「你們要提防假先知，他們披著羊皮到你們當中，骨子裡卻是凶殘的狼。
