人若仇怨人、暗伏窺伺、乘機起而擊之、傷其生命、後逃於三邑中之一邑、

But if out of hate someone lies in wait, assaults and kills a neighbor, and then flees to one of these cities,

But suppose a man hates his neighbor. So he hides and waits for him. Then he attacks him and kills him. And he runs to one of those cities for safety.

“ But if anyone hates his neighbor and lies in wait for him and attacks him and strikes him fatally so that he dies, and he flees into one of these cities,

“ But suppose someone is hostile toward a neighbor and deliberately ambushes and murders him and then flees to one of the cities of refuge.

But if someone hates his neighbor, lies in ambush for him, attacks him, and strikes him fatally, and flees to one of these cities,

“ But if there is a person who hates his neighbor, and waits in ambush for him and rises up against him and strikes him so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities,

“ But if anyone hates his neighbor, lies in wait for him, rises against him and strikes him mortally, so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities,

But if any man hate his neighbor, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally so that he dieth, and he flee into one of these cities;

But if someone hates his neighbor, lies in ambush for him, attacks him, and strikes him fatally, and flees to one of these cities,

However, suppose a person hates someone else and stalks him, attacks him, kills him, and then flees to one of these cities.

“ Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!” (niv)

“‘ If anyone strikes someone a fatal blow with an iron object, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.Or if anyone is holding a stone and strikes someone a fatal blow with it, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.Or if anyone is holding a wooden object and strikes someone a fatal blow with it, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death; when the avenger comes upon the murderer, the avenger shall put the murderer to death.If anyone with malice aforethought shoves another or throws something at them intentionally so that they dieor if out of enmity one person hits another with their fist so that the other dies, that person is to be put to death; that person is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when they meet. (niv)

“ Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind. (niv)

Anyone tormented by the guilt of murder will seek refuge in the grave; let no one hold them back. (niv)

“ Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.However, if it is not done intentionally, but God lets it happen, they are to flee to a place I will designate.But if anyone schemes and kills someone deliberately, that person is to be taken from my altar and put to death. (niv)

the assembly must judge between the accused and the avenger of blood according to these regulations. (niv)
