as the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir, and the Moabites, who live in Ar, did for us— until we cross the Jordan into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

The people of Esau, who live in Seir, allowed us to do that. The people of Moab, who live in Ar, also allowed us to do it. So let us walk through until we go across the Jordan River. Then we’ll be able to go into the land the Lord our God is giving us.”

就打發使者去見以東王、說：『請容我從你的地經過』；以東王不聽。他們也打發人去見摩押王，摩押王也不情願；以色列人就住在加低斯。他們又走過曠野，繞着以東地和摩押地，在摩押地的日出方向行，在亞嫩河那邊紮營；他們並沒有進摩押的地界呀，因為亞嫩河不過是摩押的邊界。

以東對以色列說：『你不可從我這裏經過，免得我帶刀出去對你接戰。』

亞捫人或摩押人不可進永恆主的公會，甚至到第十代也不可進永恆主的公會，永不可進。因為你們出了埃及、在路上的時候、他們沒有拿食物和水來迎接你們，又因為他們雇了米所波大米的毘奪人比珥的兒子巴蘭、來和你作對，來咒詛你。

『故此你要知道永恆主你的上帝將這美好之地賜給你去取得它，並不是因你的美德；你本是脖子硬的人民。

『以色列人哪，現在你們要聽我所教訓你們行的律例典章，好叫你們活着，得以進去，取得永恆主你們列祖的上帝所賜給你們的地以為業。

永恆主對我說：「你不可擾害摩押，不可以戰爭去惹他們；他們的地我不賜給你為業，因為我已將亞珥賜給羅得的子孫為業。」（

你要有足重公道的法碼；有足重公道的升斗，好使你在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的土地、得享長壽。

『你們要走遍營中，吩咐人民說：「要豫備乾糧，因為三天以內、你們要過這約但河，進去取得永恆主你們的上帝所賜給你們取為產業的地。」』約書亞對如便人、迦得人、和瑪拿西半族派的人說：『你們要記得永恆主的僕人摩西所吩咐你們的話、說：「永恆主你們的上帝把你們安頓好了，就必將這地賜給你們。」你們的妻子、小孩和牲畜都可以留住在約但河東邊摩西所給你們的地；至於你們一切有力氣英勇的人卻要列好了陣，在你們的族弟兄前面過去、幫助他們；等到永恆主把你們的族弟兄安頓好了，像把你們安頓好了一樣，而他們卻取得了永恆主你們的上帝所賜給他們的地了，然後你們才可以回到你們的基業地、去取得它；那地就是永恆主的僕人摩西在約但河東邊、日出的方向、所給你們的。』

所以你要遵守我今日所吩咐你的律例誡命，使你和你以後的子孫平安順遂，並使你在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的土地延年益壽。』

『「要孝敬你的父親和母親，照永恆主你的上帝所吩咐你的，使你得享長壽，並使你在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的土地、平安順遂。

永恆主又因你們的緣故、向我發怒起誓、說我必不得過約但河，也不得進永恆主你的上帝所賜給你為產業的美好之地。

『要孝敬你的父親和母親，使你在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的土地得享長壽。
