免得他們將祭拜自己神明的可憎習俗傳給你們，以致你們得罪你們的上帝耶和華。

免彼教爾、效其行於諸神可惡之事、致獲罪於爾上帝耶和華、○

彼奉其上帝、行諸可惡之事、爾若則效之、即干犯爾之上帝耶和華。

免彼誘爾效其所為可惡之事、即拜其神所為之事、致爾獲罪於主爾之天主、○

Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the Lord your God.

If you don’t destroy them, they’ll teach you to do all the things the Lord hates. He hates the way they worship their gods. If you do those things, you will sin against the Lord your God.

that they may not teach you to do according to all their abominable practices that they have done for their gods, and so you sin against the Lord your God.

This will prevent the people of the land from teaching you to imitate their detestable customs in the worship of their gods, which would cause you to sin deeply against the Lord your God.

so that they won’t teach you to do all the detestable acts they do for their gods, and you sin against the LORD your God.

so that they will not teach you to do all the same detestable practices of theirs which they have done for their gods, by which you would sin against the Lord your God.

lest they teach you to do according to all their abominations which they have done for their gods, and you sin against the Lord your God.

那時，你們要謹慎，不可受誘惑去效法他們的習俗，不可打聽他們神明的事，說，『這些民族怎樣供奉他們的神明呢？我也要效法。』你們不可按照他們的方式敬拜你們的上帝耶和華。他們祭拜自己神明的種種行為令耶和華憎惡，他們甚至焚燒自己的兒女獻給他們的神明。

也不可讓這些民族住在你的土地上，免得他們使你得罪我，你若供奉他們的神明，必因此而陷入網羅。」

又說：「所以，你們要從他們中間出來，離開他們，不要沾染污穢之物，我就接納你們。

因為他們會讓你們的兒女離棄耶和華去拜其他神明，以致耶和華向你們發怒，迅速毀滅你們。你們要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的神柱，砍下他們的亞舍拉神像，焚燒他們的偶像。

給兒子娶他們的女兒為妻，以致她們與自己的神明苟合時誘使你的兒子犯同樣的罪。

你們不要上當受騙，「交壞朋友會敗壞好品德」。

如果有人不聽從這信上的教導，要注意提防他，不要和他來往，好使他羞愧。

他們沒有照耶和華的命令消滅外族人，反倒與他們混居，仿效他們的習俗，拜他們的神像，陷入網羅。他們把自己的兒女當祭物獻給鬼魔，他們把自己的兒女獻給迦南的神像作祭物，流他們兒女無辜的血，玷污了那地方。他們的行為玷污了自己，使自己淪為淫婦。耶和華因此向祂的子民發怒，厭惡他們，

不可參與那些黑暗無益的事，反要揭發斥責，

毫無疑問，你們的上帝耶和華必不再為你們趕走他們。相反，他們還要成為設在你們當中的圈套和陷阱，你們的肉中刺、眼中釘，直到你們在你們的上帝耶和華所賜給你們的這塊美好的土地上滅亡。

他們講的話像毒瘡，只會越爛越大，許米乃和腓理徒就是例子。他們離經背道，說復活的事已成過去，動搖了許多人的信心。

因此，我告訴你們，我必不趕走這裡的居民，他們必成為你們肋旁的刺，他們的神明必成為你們的網羅。」

使那些思想敗壞、失去真理的人爭論不休，甚至把敬虔當作生財之道。

如果有人不聽從他奉我的名所說的話，我必親自懲罰那人。

因為列國都被她荒淫的烈酒灌醉了。地上的君王曾經與她通姦，地上的商人也因她窮奢極侈的生活而發了財。」我聽見天上又有一個聲音說：「我的子民啊，離開那城，以免沾染她的罪惡，受她所受的災禍。因為她已經罪惡滔天，上帝沒有忘記她一切的不義。
