If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house,

Suppose a man marries a woman. But later he decides he doesn’t like her. He finds something shameful about her. So he gives her a letter of divorce and sends her away from his house.

“ When a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, and she departs out of his house,

法利賽人說：「這樣，摩西為甚麼吩咐給妻子休書就可以休她呢？」耶穌說：「摩西因為你們的心硬，所以准許你們休妻，但起初並不是這樣。我告訴你們，凡休妻另娶的，若不是為不貞的緣故，就是犯姦淫了。」

罰他一百銀子，給女方的父親，因為他把醜名加在以色列一個少女身上。這女子仍是他的妻子，那人終身不可休她。

「人若娶妻，與她同房後恨惡她，

我看見背道的以色列行淫，我為這緣故給她休書休了她，她奸詐的妹妹猶大還不懼怕，也去行淫。

若另娶一個，她的飲食、衣服和房事不可減少。

耶和華如此說：「我休了你們的母親，她的休書在哪裏呢？我將你們賣給了我哪一個債主呢？看哪，你們被賣是因你們的罪孽；你們的母親被休，是因你們的過犯。

這男子就要拿五十銀子給女子的父親，並要娶她為妻，終身不可休她，因為他玷污了這女子。

他們說：「摩西准許寫了休書就可以休妻。」耶穌對他們說：「摩西因為你們的心硬，所以寫這誡命給你們。但從起初創造的時候，上帝造人是造男造女。因此，人要離開他的父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。既然如此，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體的了。所以，上帝配合的，人不可分開。」他們到了屋裏，門徒又問他這事。耶穌對他們說：「凡休妻另娶的，就是犯姦淫，辜負他的妻子；妻子若離棄丈夫另嫁，也是犯姦淫了。」

後夫若恨惡她，寫休書交在她手中，打發她離開夫家，又或者娶她為妻的後夫死了，

若是離開了，不可再嫁，不然要跟丈夫復和；丈夫也不可離棄妻子。我對其餘的人說－是我，不是主說－倘若某弟兄有不信的妻子，妻子也情願和他一起生活，他就不可離棄妻子。

耶和華－以色列的上帝說：「我恨惡休妻的事和衣服外面披上暴力的人。所以當謹守你們的心，不可行詭詐。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」

她丈夫約瑟是個義人，不願意當眾羞辱她，想要暗地裏把她休了。

「又有話說：『無論誰休妻，都要給她休書。』但是我告訴你們：凡休妻的，除非是因不貞的緣故，否則就是使她犯姦淫了；人若娶被休的婦人，也是犯姦淫了。」

凡休妻另娶的，就是犯姦淫；娶被丈夫休了的婦人的，也是犯姦淫。」

「人若有兩個妻子，一個是他寵愛的，另一個是失寵的，她們都給他生了兒子，但長子是他失寵妻子生的；
