故必聽從其言、行其誡命典章、乃我今日所諭爾者也、○

故必順從其命、遵我今日所諭之禁令禮儀。○

故必聽從其言、行其誡命律例、即我今日所諭爾者、○

Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”

世人啊，耶和华已经指示你们何为良善。祂向你们所要的是什么呢？是要你们行公义，好怜悯，谦卑地与你们的上帝同行。

所以，你们要纯全，正如你们的天父是纯全的。

你们既是顺服的儿女，就不要再像从前无知的时候那样放纵私欲。那呼召你们的是圣洁的，你们在一切事上也要圣洁。因为圣经上说：“你们要圣洁，因为我是圣洁的。”

“你们要爱你们的上帝耶和华，时刻遵守祂的吩咐、律例、典章和诫命。

你们亲眼目睹了耶和华的这些伟大作为。“因此，你们要遵守我今天吩咐你们的诫命，以便有力量过河攻取你们将要攻取的土地，

“以色列人啊，你们的上帝耶和华对你们有何要求？无非要你们敬畏祂，遵行祂的旨意，爱祂，全心全意地事奉祂，遵守祂的诫命和律例。我今天把这些诫命和律例赐给你们，是为了你们的益处。

万民都遵从自己的神明，但我们要永远遵从我们的上帝耶和华。

因此，我奉主的名郑重地劝告各位，不要再像不信的外族人一样过着心灵空虚的日子。他们因为愚昧无知，顽固不化，理智受到蒙蔽，与上帝所赐的生命隔绝了。他们丧尽天良，放纵情欲，沉溺于各种污秽的事。但基督绝不是这样教导你们的。如果你们听过祂的事，领受了祂的教诲，就是在祂里面的真理，就应该与从前的生活方式一刀两断，脱去因私欲的迷惑而渐渐败坏的旧人，洗心革面，穿上照着上帝形象所造的新人。这新人有从真理而来的公义和圣洁。

“你把以下条例告诉以色列全体会众。“你们要圣洁，因为我——你们的上帝耶和华是圣洁的。

既然基督曾在肉身上为你们受苦，你们也要怀着同样的心志，因为肉体受过苦的人已经与罪断绝了关系，可以在今后的生活中不再随从人的私欲，只服从上帝的旨意。你们从前长期沉溺于异教徒的嗜好——淫乱、纵欲、醉酒、狂欢、宴乐和可憎的偶像崇拜。
