Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”

所以，你们当成为完全的，就像你们的天父是完全的。

做为顺从的儿女，不可效法你们原先愚昧无知时的那些欲望；相反，正如召唤你们的那一位是圣洁的，你们在一切行为上也当成为圣洁的，因为经上记着：“你们当成为圣洁的，因为我是圣洁的。”

所以，我这样说，并且在主里忠告：你们行事不要再像外邦人那样，在自己虚妄的理性中行事；他们的意念变为黑暗，因着那在自己里面的愚昧无知和心里的刚硬，就与神的生命隔绝了；他们麻木不仁，任凭自己好色，以致贪婪地行出各样污秽的事。但你们学了基督，就不是这样——如果你们真的听从了他，又照着在耶稣里的真理，在他里面受了教导，为了你们脱去在过去行为上的旧人。这旧人顺着迷惑人的私欲受败坏，而你们在自己的心灵里得以更新，并且穿上新人；这新人是照着神的形像，在真理的公义和圣洁中被造成的。

所以，基督既然在肉身上受过苦，你们也应该以同样的心志装备自己，因为那在肉身上受过苦的，就已经与罪断绝了，以致不再顺着人的欲望，而是顺着神的旨意，在世上度余下的时间。要知道，过往的日子，你们做了外邦人愿意做的事，活在好色、私欲、酗酒、荒宴、狂饮和律法所禁止的拜偶像之中——这已经够了。
