Then you must build an altar there to the LORD your God, an altar of stones– do not use an iron tool on them.

Build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool on them.

Build an altar there to honor the Lord your God. Make it out of stones. Don’t use any iron tool on them.

And there you shall build an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. You shall wield no iron tool on them;

“ Then build an altar there to the Lord your God, using natural, uncut stones. You must not shape the stones with an iron tool.

Then Elijah took twelve stones, corresponding to the number of tribes that descended from Jacob, to whom the LORD had said,“ Israel will be your new name.”With the stones he constructed an altar for the LORD. Around the altar he made a trench large enough to contain two seahs of seed.

and Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early in the morning he built an altar at the foot of the mountain and arranged twelve standing stones– according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

Then Joshua built an altar for the LORD God of Israel on Mount Ebal,just as Moses the LORD’s servant had commanded the Israelites. As described in the law scroll of Moses, it was made with uncut stones untouched by an iron tool. They offered burnt sacrifices on it and sacrificed tokens of peace.
