The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

Your children will be cursed. Your crops will be cursed. Your calves and lambs will be cursed.

Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.

Your children and your crops will be cursed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be cursed.

Your descendants will be cursed, and your land’s produce, the young of your herds, and the newborn of your flocks.

When I have cut off your supply of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall bring back your bread by weight, and you shall eat and not be satisfied.

I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze.And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.

Let his children be fatherless, And his wife a widow.Let his children continually be vagabonds, and beg; Let them seek their bread also from their desolate places.Let the creditor seize all that he has, And let strangers plunder his labor.Let there be none to extend mercy to him, Nor let there be any to favor his fatherless children.Let his posterity be cut off, And in the generation following let their name be blotted out.Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord, And let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.Let them be continually before the Lord, That He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;

For indeed the days are coming in which they will say,‘ Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’Then they will begin‘ to say to the mountains,“ Fall on us!” and to the hills,“ Cover us!”’

you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

My eyes fail with tears, My heart is troubled; My bile is poured on the ground Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the children and the infants Faint in the streets of the city.They say to their mothers,“ Where is grain and wine?” As they swoon like the wounded In the streets of the city, As their life is poured out In their mothers’ bosom.

“ Behold, I will rebuke your descendants And spread refuse on your faces, The refuse of your solemn feasts; And one will take you away with it.

“ See, O Lord, and consider! To whom have You done this? Should the women eat their offspring, The children they have cuddled? Should the priest and prophet be slain In the sanctuary of the Lord?

As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird— No birth, no pregnancy, and no conception!Though they bring up their children, Yet I will bereave them to the last man. Yes, woe to them when I depart from them!Just as I saw Ephraim like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place, So Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.”Give them, O Lord— What will You give? Give them a miscarrying womb And dry breasts!

His roots are dried out below, And his branch withers above.The memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name among the renowned.He is driven from light into darkness, And chased out of the world.He has neither son nor posterity among his people, Nor any remaining in his dwellings.

Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—

“ Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
