But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.

But to this day the Lord hasn’t given you a mind that understands. He hasn’t given you eyes that see. He hasn’t given you ears that hear.

But to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to understand or eyes to see or ears to hear.

But to this day the Lord has not given you minds that understand, nor eyes that see, nor ears that hear!

The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The Lord has made them both.

And He said,“ Go, and tell this people:‘ Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’“ Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And return and be healed.”

having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;

O Lord, why have You made us stray from Your ways, And hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servants’ sake, The tribes of Your inheritance.

Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.

“ But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass through, for the Lord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that He might deliver him into your hand, as it is this day.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.

He answered and said to them,“ Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:‘ Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’

saying,‘ Go to this people and say:“ Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive;For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.”’

What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.Just as it is written:“ God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.”And David says:“ Let their table become a snare and a trap, A stumbling block and a recompense to them.Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see, and bow down their back always.”

Let no one say when he is tempted,“ I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
