以此律書、置於爾上帝耶和華約匱之側、為證於爾、

汝其往哉、為我為民、為猶大眾、以此書之言、詢於耶和華、因我列祖不聽此書之言、不遵所載諭我儕者而行、故耶和華向我、發怒甚烈、有女先知戶勒大、乃哈珥哈斯孫、特瓦子、掌禮服者沙龍之妻也、居耶路撒冷之二區、祭司希勒家、亞希甘、亞革波、沙番、亞撒雅、咸往見之、與之共語、戶勒大謂之曰、以色列之上帝耶和華云、其告遣爾詣我者曰、耶和華云、我必降災於此處、及其居民、循猶大王所誦書中之言、蓋彼眾棄我、焚香於他神、以其手所為、激我之怒、故我發怒於此而不息、惟猶大王遣爾詢於耶和華、當告之曰、以色列之上帝耶和華云、論爾所聞之言、爾聞我指此地、與其居民所言、必為荒墟、而受呪詛、乃中心柔順、自卑於耶和華前、裂衣哭泣、我俞允爾、耶和華言之矣、

奉於耶和華室之金運出時、祭司希勒家得耶和華之律書、即摩西所傳者、希勒家謂繕寫沙番曰、我於耶和華室得律書、乃以書授之、

大祭司希勒家謂繕寫沙番曰、我於耶和華室得律書、乃授書於沙番、沙番讀之、繕寫沙番詣王復命曰、爾之臣僕、已將室中所貯之金、傾而出之、付於督耶和華室之工作者、又奏王曰、祭司希勒家授我一書、遂讀於王前、王聞律書之言、自裂其衣、

匱內惟二石版、即以色列人出埃及、耶和華與之立約、摩西在何烈山所置者、此外別無他物、

蓋我由律已死於律、致得生於上帝、
