And this he said about Judah:“ Hear, Lord, the cry of Judah; bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause. Oh, be his help against his foes!”

Here’s what Moses said about Judah.“ Lord, listen to Judah cry out. Bring him to his people. By his own power he stands up for himself. Lord, help him fight against his enemies!”

And this he said of Judah:“ Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him in to his people. With your hands contend for him, and be a help against his adversaries.”

Moses said this about the tribe of Judah:“ O Lord, hear the cry of Judah and bring them together as a people. Give them strength to defend their cause; help them against their enemies!”

He said this about Judah: LORD, hear Judah’s cry and bring him to his people. He fights for his cause with his own hands, but may you be a help against his foes.

And this was regarding Judah; so he said:“ Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, And bring him to his people. With his hands he contended for them, And may You be a help against his adversaries.”

And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said, Hear, Jehovah, the voice of Judah, And bring him in unto his people. With his hands he contended for himself; And thou shalt be a help against his adversaries.

“ Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you.You are a lion’s cub, Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness— who dares to rouse him?The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk. Therefore the Lord will take no pleasure in the young men, nor will he pity the fatherless and widows, for everyone is ungodly and wicked, every mouth speaks folly. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, his hand is still upraised. (niv)

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginningand have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies.“‘ The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you:When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.“ He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords. After the death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord,“ Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Canaanites?”The Lord answered,“ Judah shall go up; I have given the land into their hands.”The men of Judah then said to the Simeonites their fellow Israelites,“ Come up with us into the territory allotted to us, to fight against the Canaanites. We in turn will go with you into yours.” So the Simeonites went with them.When Judah attacked, the Lord gave the Canaanites and Perizzites into their hands, and they struck down ten thousand men at Bezek.It was there that they found Adoni-Bezek and fought against him, putting to rout the Canaanites and Perizzites.Adoni-Bezek fled, but they chased him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.Then Adoni-Bezek said,“ Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. Now God has paid me back for what I did to them.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there. (niv)

Day after day men came to help David, until he had a great army, like the army of God. (niv)

But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them— bring them here and kill them in front of me.’” (niv)

In the Lord I take refuge. The war between the house of Saul and the house of David lasted a long time. David grew stronger and stronger, while the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker. (niv)

For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. (niv)

The Lord says to my lord:“ Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,“ Rule in the midst of your enemies!” (niv)

Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes. (niv)

The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you give! (niv)

As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.” (niv)

Jehoshaphat became more and more powerful; he built forts and store cities in Judahand had large supplies in the towns of Judah. He also kept experienced fighting men in Jerusalem.Their enrollment by families was as follows: From Judah, commanders of units of 1,000: Adnah the commander, with 300,000 fighting men;next, Jehohanan the commander, with 280,000;next, Amasiah son of Zikri, who volunteered himself for the service of the Lord, with 200,000.From Benjamin: Eliada, a valiant soldier, with 200,000 men armed with bows and shields;next, Jehozabad, with 180,000 men armed for battle.These were the men who served the king, besides those he stationed in the fortified cities throughout Judah. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. (niv)
