About Levi he said:“ Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful servant. You tested him at Massah; you contended with him at the waters of Meribah.

Here’s what Moses said about Levi.“ Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful servant. You tested him at Massah. You argued with him at the waters of Meribah.

And of Levi he said,“ Give to Levi your Thummim, and your Urim to your godly one, whom you tested at Massah, with whom you quarreled at the waters of Meribah;

Moses said this about the tribe of Levi:“ O Lord, you have given your Thummim and Urim— the sacred lots— to your faithful servants the Levites. You put them to the test at Massah and struggled with them at the waters of Meribah.

He said about Levi: Your Thummim and Urim belong to your faithful one; you tested him at Massah and contended with him at the Waters of Meribah.

Of Levi he said,“ Let Your Thummim and Your Urim belong to Your godly man, Whom You tested at Massah, With whom You contended at the waters of Meribah;

And of Levi he said:“ Let Your Thummim and Your Urim be with Your holy one, Whom You tested at Massah, And with whom You contended at the waters of Meribah,

About Levi he said,“ Your Thummim and your Urim are with your godly one, whom you proved at Massah, with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah.

他给那地方起名叫玛撒，又叫米利巴，因为以色列人在那里争闹，并且试探耶和华，说：“耶和华是否在我们中间呢？”

又要将乌陵和土明放在决断胸袋里；亚伦进到耶和华面前的时候，要放在心上。这样，亚伦在耶和华面前要把以色列人的决断胸袋常常带着，放在心上。”

这就是米利巴水，因以色列人与耶和华争闹，耶和华在他们面前显为圣。

他又给亚伦戴上胸袋，把乌陵和土明放在胸袋内。

他们在营中嫉妒摩西和耶和华的圣者亚伦。

他要站在以利亚撒祭司面前；以利亚撒要凭乌陵的判断，在耶和华面前为他求问。他和以色列全会众都要照以利亚撒的指示出入。”

省长对他们说，不可吃至圣的物，直到有会用乌陵和土明的祭司兴起来。

除了祭司和供职的利未人之外，不准别人进耶和华的殿；只有他们可以进去，因为他们是神圣的。众百姓都要遵守耶和华所吩咐的。

扫罗求问耶和华，耶和华却不藉梦，或乌陵，或先知回答他。

“祭司不可娶妓女，或被玷污的女人为妻，也不可娶被休的妇人为妻，因为他是归神为圣的。

这样一位圣洁、无邪恶、无玷污、远离罪人、高过诸天的大祭司，对我们是最合适的；

“你要用纯金做一面牌，如同刻印章，在上面刻‘归耶和华为圣’。

省长对他们说，不可吃至圣的物，直到有会用乌陵和土明的祭司兴起来。

因为你必不将我的灵魂撇在阴间，也不让你的圣者见地府。

你在急难中呼求，我就搭救你，在雷的隐密处应允你，在米利巴水那里考验你。（细拉）

“你要写信给非拉铁非教会的使者，说：‘那神圣、真实的，拿着大卫的钥匙，开了就没有人能关，关了就没有人能开的这样说：

我对他们说：“你们归耶和华为圣，器皿也归为圣；金银是甘心献给耶和华—你们列祖之神的。

对可拉和他所有同伙的人说：“到了早晨，耶和华必指示谁是属他的，谁是成为圣的，就准许谁亲近他。他要叫自己所拣选的人亲近他。

又在旷野将你列祖所不认识的吗哪赐给你吃，为要磨炼你，考验你，终久使你享福。

你要记得，这四十年耶和华—你的神在旷野一路引导你，是要磨炼你，考验你，为要知道你的心如何，是否愿意遵守他的诫命。他磨炼你，任你饥饿，将你和你列祖所不认识的吗哪赐给你吃，使你知道，人活着，不是单靠食物，乃是靠耶和华口里所出的一切话。
