From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

From heaven he made you hear his voice. He wanted to teach you. On earth he showed you his great fire. You heard his words coming out of the fire.

Out of heaven he let you hear his voice, that he might discipline you. And on earth he let you see his great fire, and you heard his words out of the midst of the fire.

永恆主對摩西說：『看吧，我要在密雲中來找你，好叫人民在我和你說話的時候可以聽見，他們也可以永遠信你。』於是摩西將人民的話告訴永恆主。

號角聲越來越強、強到極點，摩西就說話，上帝在雷轟中回答他。

有哪一族之民曾聽見一位神在火中講話的聲音，像你那樣聽見、還能活着呢？

你也降臨在西乃山，從天上同他們說話，賜給他們正當事的典章、真正的禮節規矩、美好之條例和誡命；

你們要謹慎，不要拒絕那向你們說話的；因為那些拒絕在地上傳神諭的尚且不能逃罪；我們若轉臉不顧那從天上傳神諭的、哪能逃罪呢？

眾民見了雷轟、閃電、角聲和山上冒着煙；就懼怕，直發顫，遠遠地站着。對摩西說：『你對我們說話吧，我們就要聽；可別讓上帝和我們說話呀，恐怕我們死亡。』摩西對人民說：『不要懼怕，因為上帝來臨，是要試驗你們，叫你們時常敬畏他，不至於犯罪。』於是人民遠遠地站着；摩西就挨近暗霧那裏，暗霧就是上帝之所在。永恆主對摩西說：『你要對以色列人這樣說：「你們自己看見我從天上和你們說話了。

因為你們上了的並不是一個可摸觸的山：那裏有燒𤏲的火、與昏黑幽冥和旋風、

永恆主的榮耀停於西乃山，那雲彩把山遮蓋了六天；第七天永恆主從雲中呼召摩西。
